Don't let the shape bother you...
I was having a hard time finding hex shafts on masonry bits. This one did the trick, along with my Harbor Freight 1/2" hammer drill, for the 2 holes I needed. It clears the dust/debris from the hole for the most part but be sure the depth is not restricted by using air pressure to blow-out the hole (protect your eyes!) before adding your anchor to the hole...

Best masonry drill I have used in over 30 years. All drills should be this good.

Avoid at all costs.
These bits are absolute trash and could not handle two holes in cinder block before falling completely apart. Avoided all costs. Do not buy this crap product.

They work OK, but end up with a triangular hole.
They work OK, but because of the design, they rattle around the hole and create a triangular opening. Would rather the shaft was the same size as the bit end. If the flute / shaft was the same size, it would also do a better job of egressing the cement dust.

Do not buy
Cheap and completely ineffective. The items were damaged during use and started melting after only 30 seconds. Very poor quality and not fit for its intended purpose.
