Works great; just had to move closer to router to connect first time
The media could not be loaded. I shopped for an indoor gardening system on the basis of these criteria:- quiet; a near silent pumping system as I have an open floor plan- a large water tank to minimize refilling while I travel- wifi so I could check on it while I travel- an extendable light for taller plants (this extends to about 30" which is more than necessary IMO)- a larger # of pods (some deer and rabbit tolerant herbs like mint will be transplanted outside)- (preferred, not essential) aerogarden size pods for ease of finding replacement baskets and pods- (preferred) a better price point compared to brand name modelsThis Diivoo promised to have it all, and after testing for a couple of weeks I can it delivers on all its promises. Since I already use the SmartLife app that was a nice bonus. The app is easy to use and the gardening system works great.I was also impressed that this model comes with rods to support vining plants and little flags to label the pods (though I just draw a planting map on a sheet of paper). Of course, there are a couple of quirks and caveats. The caveats: You do have to buy/supply your own seeds. I used ordinary ones from my local garden center and they have all germinated and are growing. (Tip: soak the pods and use one to two seeds max for almost all plant varieties. Thin to one plant per pod after germination--you don't want plants competing for space and resources.)Second, the instructions are very basic, but the English translation is not awful with just a few typos and phrasing issues.Third, there's no water level window, but there's a lift off filler cap you can see it from, an alarm and wifi push notification. The pump also will be much more audible when the water level is too low to cover it.The only quirk so far is that I couldn't connect the Diivoo to the 2.4 band wifi and app in the kitchen until I briefly moved it into another room nearer the router. Then the app connected right away, and it stayed connected to wifi and the app after I moved it back to the kitchen. Tip: do this first with some water (and no plant food yet) in the tank to eliminate the beeping of the low water alarm, but not so high it spills when you move it.Compared to the Aerogarden models, this model (and every other off-brand model I saw) lacks a pumping system that feeds a water trickle directly to the pods and onto the seeds. Instead the pump is a submersible model that circulates water in the tank. While most DIY hydroponic system plans use the trickle pump technique, it did not seem to matter much in my case. Perhaps the seeds germinated a day or two slower, but compared to the 3-4 weeks from planting to harvest that is not significant.I also compared the Diivoo to the recently released Idoo model with wifi. Though the Idoo--as a leading off-brand competitor--uses its own size pods (though parts are easy to find on Amazon), had a much more polished instruction manual and uses a different but comparable app, I'd say the physical units were about the same quality. I do prefer the simple, reusable ziplocs that this Diivoo's supplies came in over the single-use, tear open bags that the Idoo supplies came in. The major drawback is that the Idoo light doesn't extend very high, but it does have a fan to help with pollination. In short, I am delighted with my purchase. This is a very well designed product.

Great for growing TALL plants
The light expands up to 30 inches high. Then, you can remove the light and use a separate LED grow light as needed for plants over 30”. The pump motor is whisper quiet and works after the light is removed. I added an aquarium air pump for an oxygen stone - roots love the extra oxygen. I had no problems using the wifi remote. You can easily set the grow light automatic on/off timing via the remote control. Don’t forget to restart the unit after any power outages. If you’re growing tall plants, this unit is a great value. The only negative is there isn’t a window to see the water level. However, if the water falls below 1.5 liters, a warning buzzer lets you know to add water.

Fast growing
I love this hydroponic system,it was easy to set up and my pak coy and lettuce are flourishing fast and beautiful. I would love to purchase another Diivoo. I would recommend this one to beginners like myself.

Cool idea but terribly executed
I initially bought 2 different hydro set ups to use for lettuce and herbs in my kitchen. I was excited most about this one and even gifted one to my mom for Christmas however… it has been a huge disappointment. First of all, the sponges are way too small. They look undersized for the baskets and, compared to my other unit, they have an algae problem and did not germinate my seeds nearly as effectively. 3 pods didn’t germinate at all, even after re-seeding them and most are algae covered.Next, and probably the worst issue, is the pump- it’s totally useless. Apart from being tiny it just doesn’t circulate the water at all. My other unit (Hemoplt) has a feature I really love where there is like a hose or something with branches that makes the water flow right into each pod. This unit’s pump is just at the bottom in the corner and when it’s running you can’t even tell- the water doesn’t appear to be moving at all.I also could not figure out the “wi-Fi” feature but honestly I barely tried after being so underwhelmed once I set it up.You guys can do better than this, I mean come on.. 👎🏻

Nice for the price. Great height. Holds a lot of plants.
This is my second one. It won't connect to my phone so far, but that's not that big of an issue for me. I tried a few times after switching the 5G off, but no luck yet. The light's and plastic cover came broken, but the light works. I like that the lights go up very high and that it holds a lot of plants. I'm growing mostly lettuces, Puck tomatoes, and dwarf green beans (Mascotte) in this new one.

Don't be afraid, it still works in 2022.
All the directions are so outdated i didn't know how to connect because the automatic scanner never saw it any time i tried to have the app scan for it. but i FINALLY found the option you need to choose to have it manually connect in the app. i post a picture here just incase i say something that doesn't translate to english well, so here's a picture! worked instantly and downloaded a profile and now i get the same control panel as they show in the pictures. smartlife updated how it looks so i was scared i bought a big useless 100$ pot... but it still works, and very well! my only thing to say is they should update the directions or maybe include more detail ones since automatic didn't work for me.

Nice hydroponics machine!
The media could not be loaded. This is the first time I've bought a hydroponics machine, and I think it's the right decision! Because this unit can be assembled quickly. I like the two light modes; I think they can take better care of the plants. The hydroponics machine can also be connected to the phone app, so I can directly control the hydroponics machine through the phone, which will give me a lot of peace of mind.

Moldy plants prone
It’s aii, really prone to mold and fungus’s would need to be really good with water treatment. I found it hard to clean the filter when my plants were big cause the roots were stuck to the floor of the garden. Good bang for your buck but requires maintenance as plants do. Just with water which can be annoying.
