After various complaints from my husband about his feet, and the bothersome blanket on them I researched and concluded that this was the best unit. It arrived quickly, I assembled it fairly easily, put it in place--only to hear that the problem with the blanket was that his feet got hot. Ugh. Hence the return. However, I highly recommend this product. It is solid feeling, doesn't twist or loose it's shape, or sag. I like the black color as it's not so hospital looking and more inconspicuous if placed off to the side. Yes, it weighs more than the stated 1 pound--that's why it's sturdy. My only concern was with the protective nuts for the bolts (see photo). They do protrude, so if using this in a position where they are in contact either with the mattress or box spring, it seems they could eventually cause some wear. I had thought to cut a piece of plastic tubing to cover them in that case. It is helpful to have a 2nd same size wrench to keep the hex head of the bolt in position while tightening the nut.

It holds the bedcovers high enough so you don't hit your foot every time you get under the covers. It took some getting used to, but it has helped to relieve the pressure on my toes a lot.

I bought this for a woman who is bed-bound with lower extremity neuropathy. The covers can be placed over her and clipped around the frame so that drafts of air do not come through. It was very easy to put together. I placed it between the mattress and the box springs, and it rises high above her toes. It is also sturdy enough to hold blankets and a bedspread on top when they are pulled back to check on the patient. A good buy.

Just had my sixth foot surgery and had just learned about blanket lifters in time to get this one in place beforehand. It was great for creating a safe little tent in the bed for my foot in the early days after the surgery.I am pleased with the quality of this particular blanket lifter. It is sturdy and was easy to assemble by myself the evening before my surgery. I read the reviews on several different ones on Amazon and concluded that this one was the best. I also like that it came with two large clips to keep the blankets from falling off. Highly recommend!

Does not hold sheet and blanket in place. Too small.

It works as described. I took off 1 star because one of the pieces had the ends reversed. I had to switch them, but it did cause me to question the instructions.
