Full synthetic oil tends to run low after a few months on older engines. Also, as an engine ages, the 5w20 also becomes a little too thin, causing it to also run low. So.... I've found that running 10w30 synthetic blend lubricates my 300,000 mile engine just fine without having to add the extra quart between changes. I prefer motorcraft, but it no longer comes in 5 qt bottles, so here we are. It works great for older engines that use a little oil (with 5w20 synthetic).
