Others have said that is was difficult to install in a Palram greenhouse but I found it quite simple. The attachment brackets must have been improved because the one that attached to the greenhouse accommodated the bolt that was in the old Palram vent opener. I did have to drill out the bracket that attached to the vent slightly to make it just a bit larger to allow the two bolts to pass through. The vent opener opens MUCH wider than the Palram one ever did and closes tight when the temperature drops to 70 degrees. This was a very good buy and I highly recommend this product. I only gave it 4 stars on the "Easy to Install" because I had to drill the bracket but anyone with a drill and the right size bit can do the same thing I did. Install took 10 minutes.

Bought this for my Palram 6x8 greenhouse. This does work, however two things that could be improved. If the window bracket had just a tiny bit wider slots, the slide bolts that are used everywhere on the greenhouse, would fit through and we would be able to use them to affix the opener. The slots on the frame bracket ARE wide enough. I wasn't ABOUT to drill holes in my expensive greenhouse, so I used a metal drill on the slot on the window bracket so I could use the Palram slide bolts on both ends. Works perfectly, but I wouldn't be able to return it since i altered it.In the directions, they should mention that if it's summer and you're trying to install the cylinder into the housing, you should put the cylinder in the freezer for 15 minutes first, then push the piston rod in and out a few times to make it move smoothly. Then it is easy to screw it into the housing with the window shut. And, as the cylinder warms up it'll open so you'll know it's working. I had to get this hint from another review or I would have thought the product was defective because I was trying to screw it into the housing while the piston rod is fully extended and trying to open the window. Not fun.

Works like a charm!

The metal on this contraption is very thin, very cheap, and the hinge parts come apart very easily under any kind of load. It fell apart within a week or so of installation, but the actual piston part the opens and closes with the temperature change is pretty solid -- just everything it connects to, is junky. I'm mechanically inclined so I just made my own hinge parts, to make this work in my greenhouse, and it's worked great since then. So I give three stars just for the piston assembly, but the rest is junk. Plan on fixing it yourself!

Came on time. It was a little work to get it installed. It doesn't come with attachments like the plastic arm from the greenhouse kit. However, it only takes a few minutes to install.It works like a charm. As the temperature rises the arm extended to relieve heat. It's definitely worth it for my wife. She no longer has to monitor the heat in the greenhouse and no longer needs to use a step stool to open the window.Awesome product. A must have for anyone that has a greenhouse.

This is a simple device. I've owned several from other companies. Very basic concept. However, this one...well, there are two holes that need to be aligned so you can put a kotter pin through them and thru another piece between them. Simple enough. But NOT when the two main holes do NOT line up. I don't want to buy a product and have to drill new holes. So I am in the process of returning this defective device. BUT I have to pay for the return shipping!!! That isn't right. If I changed my mind, sure, I would pay. But this is DEFECTIVE and I have to pay $11 for the return! YEAH, thanks but no thanks. Buy at your own risk....

Installed onto my greenhouse that we bought from Costco and it works great. Automatically Opens when it heats up and automatically closes when it cools off.
