I have long wanted to stream CD quality music but could not justify the cost of a pair of Amazon Echo Studios, or pair of Sonos etc. Streaming to Amazon Echo shows, Dots etc has always sounded disappointing. Even plugging an echo using the headphone outs into the rear of a decent amp connected to good quality passive speakers sounded muddy. I also already had some pretty decent passive speakers that it seemed a shame not to make use of. For £299 I could hook up my older audio kit. When I read about this device being released it ticked all my boxes and in short I am very impressed with sound quality, ease of use and build quality. Setup was quick, firmware updates are seamless. The supplied remote control is great with a built in push-button microphone to control the Wiim using Alexa integration. This too works very well. You do not have to use the app on your phone to control the Wiim amp, but it is required for setup and updates. So I now have the Wiim amp connected to a pair of decent passive speakers, and the Wiim streams HD and Ultra HD music from my Amazon Music account (free 3 month subscription right now!). And it sounds brilliant. As good as my actual CD player. It can also stream FLAC files ripped from my old CD collection on a memory stick in the rear USB (yet to try this, only had it one day). Great if you have more obscure old CDs that are not streamed by Amazon. Special mention for the Wiim Home app - it just works really well, very neat. A nice feature is that you can install it on multiple android phones and they all retain independent control of the Wiim amp (ie my wife can use her phone to change what I is playing). They all show what is currently playing with album art, current audio quality, EQ etc. One other advantage for me is that the Wiim amp automatically goes to standby with a very low power usage when inactive (unlike my old amp that I would inevitably forget to switch off). One thing I have not managed to figure out is how to show what is playing on the Wiim amp on my old Echo Show. I have read it can be done using the Amazon Alexa app and setting up Combine speakers with Multi-room music (MRM) but this might compromise audio quality at the present time (I also read a fix to the lower audio quality when used this way is planned). If you buy this get a couple of AAA batteries for the remote (they are not supplied and you need the remote to complete setup). To summarise - amazing functionality, value and quality. Nothing not to like. Update: To address a few issues reported in other reviews: 1. “In standby, the amplifier heats up and consumes about 8 W”. This was fixed in a recent firmware update. I read that the power usage in standby is now about 3W. In standby my Wiim Amp is only slightly warm to the touch. 2. “there is a constant hum audible from the chassis”. My Wiim amp produces no audible hum in standby. On the Wiim forum Wiim Support stated “A very small number of units from our first manufacturing batch exhibit a low humming noise due to the power transformer. This issue has been resolved in subsequent batches. “.

Absolutely fantastic product. Apple like quality packaging. Similarly great build, lovely finish. Easy set up. Nice app. Loads of EQ settings. My Monitor Audio speakers sound great. Amazing price. Whats not to love!!

A HiFi enthusiast for 45 years with so many bits of kit , I have lost count . This was bought to look good in the lounge and connect to good quality Monitor Audio speakers . So pleased with this purchase ! What cracking value . Acoustic tracks and vocals sing out with clarity . Stereo separation really amazing ! The bass is moderate but can be boosted on the App Eq which is versatile. Power seems to match the figures quoted . Excellent value for low and medium volume listening. It’s a bargain and really well constructed. Don’t debate , look for the price drops around Prime Days . App is excellent. Set up took 8-9 minutes . Bravo .

This is the fourth WiiM device I’ve bought and it’s great. Really good value for money (esp on prime day), nice solid sound and really easy to setup. For the money it’s a great feeling product - compact size but feels like quality. It connects easily to my network and plays really nicely with Roon. The WiiM app is great and has new features added all the time.

Love it, won't be changing it. I love the streaming option and playing vinyl though this to my kef q150s.... Great set up. Unfortunately the app won't allow set up of playlist or favourites when using amazon music.... which hopefully they'll fix with an update?? So it's 4 stars, would be 5 if worked better with amazon

This amplifier and streamer combined is great. I have added a Marantz Cd player and Dali speakers and the sound is excellent. Set up was straight forward - the toughest bit was opening the remote to insert batteries and tidying up the usual spaghetti junction of cables. To connect to Wifi you use the Wiim App. It dected my amplifier and network immediately and connection was established in seconds. What makes it so great is the Wiim Home App. It's a model of what an app should be, very easy to use and logically set up. I use mainly Amazon music and Spotify. The app has an amazing list of music services and radio services that are supported. To use Amazon you log in to your Amazon account on the Wiim app and then clicking on Amazon music brings up your music account with playlists etc. Spotify was even faster. The sound is great even on new speakers - I know from having another set of Dali speakers that the sound improves over time as the speakers are run in. With my other music system I was totally unable to get Alexa to discover my amplifier. After numerous attempts and a lot of bad language I bought an Echo Link which enabled me to stream Amazon Music. This time I rather expected similar problems but on opening Alexa I saw "New device detected" immediately and the Wiim Amp was already there. I didnot even have to ask Alexa to search for it. So I can use Alexa and can also cast from Amazon music as well as playing directly from the Wiim Amp itself. You do need the Wiim Home App to set up - it has numerous features which I haven't explored yet including equalisers, presets and an extensive help section which includes a comprehensive user manual. Overall I thoroughly recommend this amp and it comes at an amazing price - other manufacturers must be a bit worried!

Another excellent product from WiiM. Connected to KEF Q1 Meta speakers; the sound is excellent. The power output could be higher but more sensitive speakers would be better if one likes loud music. But in this case the power is quite sufficient. This is the second WiiM product that I've purchased.

I have a 40-year-plus relationship with Hifi, so I can be considered a full-on audiophile geek. I've 'wasted' so many thousands of quids. This streamer/amp combo is ridiculously good and has astounding value. I bought it to give a go as I couldn't rid my Bluesound Powernode, an £800 buy, of a slightly lumpy mask to voices. From my headphone experience, I know that careful equalisation of the sound can transform from the mundane to spectacular. The Bluesound lacks equalisation options, and I started to think my £1400 speakers were not being correctly driven. Yes, it's related to the room primarily, but with no adjustments in the amp beyond the very basic, I wanted a change. Enter the crazy-priced WiiM. I saw the reviews but questioned whether a way less than half the price streamer/amp could do the job. I can tell you it does, Great equalisation and sub-woofer control. The lumpiness has gone, the vocals are clear, with a lovely rhythmic bass. I loved the Bluesound, but I think the relationship needed refreshing, and Bluesound hasn't developed the product much beyond the original Powernode. The WiiM App is much superior, with barely any difference in sound quality. The differences disappear after sound tuning. The WiiM is now a better option for me. Money saved with functionality and sound improved.

Pojedyncza dioda Led oraz kropeczki od głośności to jedyne informacje poza aplikacją, które można odczytać z urządzenia, dioda led wskazuje na jakim kanale jesteśmy kolorami, które niestety nawet nie są unikalne, tzn. na zielono świeci się gdy jesteśmy w trybie optycznym albo RCA, dopiero w aplikacji można to sprawdzić. Pilot korzysta z WiFi, więc nie dość, że bateria trzyma bardzo krótko (CR2032) to jeszcze budzi to pewne obawy. U mnie gra z monitorami Q Acoustics 3020i i jest OK. Początkowo miałem problem z produktem, ale support ze strony Linkplay Technology Inc. stanął na wysokości zadania. Koniec końców kupiłbym ponownie.

Seller sent out with the seal sticker opened and crumbly already! The model sent is also much older v5 version that was in circulation early 2024! We are now at v7 with revised high layer count pcb and better cooling. Thankfully all works well, for soundbar replacement is much more powerful and musical as it drives my spare ls50 effortlessly. Wiim home app is amazing , snappy and have all the options most audio nerds needed Update: linkplay seller contacted me to find out more and explanation given sounds reasonable that logistics storage is out of their control and so offered a small token as apology.I think this shows me they care about delivering lifestyle products without the lifestyle tax to their customers and value feedback. I consider myself to be an audiophile, well at least a reasonable one. Yes I have some expensive equipment but when it came to outfitting my garage, I needed to take a different approach. So I started with the online reviews. The WiiM amp got mixed reviews from the audiophile sect. But wait a minute, this only sets you back $300 not thousands. So shouldn’t it be judged based on its cost benefit? I say yes. Therefore I give this device a full five stars. I think its performance is dam good. Pairing with the right speakers is key. It does many things very well. Great sonics, clarity, adequate power, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, a really good App, and a solid build. Another feature is its remote, and the number of music streams it supports. I think I love this compact amp. So now, what speakers? I chose Polk Atrium 6 and it was a match made in heaven for my two bay garage. Not to say that this amp won’t satisfy the indoor audio needs of most. Be careful in selecting you speakers. Look for a high sensitivity in the speakers performance specifications. You will get the most out of the amps power. So I started this journey today and will update as time goes on. Right now, I give the WiiM amp a high recommendation for its price point. It is musical, compact, well made, ample connectivity, and won’t break the bank.

Il wiim è un piccolo amplificatore che nonostante le dimensioni in un , per me, design bello ed essenziale racchiude in un unico prodotto diverse funzioni che lo rendono unico nel suo genere in relazione al suo prezzo. Con i suoi ingressi è possibile collegarlo a praticamente ogni tipo di sorgente con il plus dell' HDMI arc . Questa funzione permette in una TV dotata di questo tipo di uscita video di usare il telecomando della televisione o di altri dispositivi ad essa collegati (che supportano le funzioni HDMI arc ) per controllare il suo volume e di accendersi e spegnersi automaticamente. Quest' ultima opzione è disponibile anche con l' ingresso ottico. Il suono è pulito e definito tipico dei classe D anche se non troppo freddo come altri provati e la sua potenza, non grandissima, ma comunque più che sufficiente e adeguata per collegarlo a credo quasi tutti i diffusori. Lo streamer interno permette di ricevere musica da praticamente tutte le piattaforme, l' equalizzatore e l' applicazione ben fatta e fin ora con aggiornamenti frequenti completano il prodotto che può essere utilizzato veramente nelle maniere più disparate. Unica cosa che mi sarebbe piaciuta , la presenza di un' uscita cuffie fisica anche se è comunque presente la possibilità del bluetooth o airplay. Anche il supporto per un problema riscontrato è stato semplice e rapido attraverso l' email e il forum dedicato. Per quel che mi riguarda ho dato 5 stelle.. probabilmente ci sono amplificatori anche migliori ma non a questo prezzo , ne con queste funzioni e dimensioni.
