Comfortable quality shoes
I bought these shoes for warm weather hikes and was prepared to not like them. I always wear high waterproof hikers, but wanted cooler feet and quicker dry time. I was really surprised how great these shoes are. I’m size 11 medium in everything and they fit perfectly. The toe room is unbelievable and they fit snug around the mid foot/heal and ankle so no need for a death grip on the laces. I always double knot my laces, but these ones stay tied with just a single knot. The vibram soles have terrific traction and the flat footbed has just enough cushion and support to be comfortable on rocky trails. Light as a feather, flexible, they dry fast and look good, no clown shoe vibes. I am duly impressed and willing to admit my days of heavy high top hikers may be over for at least the summer weather. I recommend these Topo shoes highly.

Comfortable but doesn’t have that plush cushiony feel
I love how Topo’s feel and fit. For my narrow feet, Topo’s are superior in locking my foot into place. I hiked the John Muir Trail in 2020 wearing the Topo Ultraventure’s and they were so great and perfect feeling. I hate that I didn’t buy a few pairs of those for the future back when I had the chance. The new ultraventure 3’s are too overly stacked and cushioned for me so since I’m a long distance hiker, when I read about these new Traverse’s that are made specifically for thru-hiking which include some features I like like drainage holes and better stability, so it was a no brainer and worth giving them a feel. The initial fit was as expected but unfortunately they’re not quite what I’m looking for. It’s absolutely bonkers to me to design a long distance hiking shoe with the sole stacked as high as it is but with minimal cushioning. Without sufficient cushioning my feet start to ache a lot more so I was looking for a little of that plush cushiony feel like the original Ultraventure's, but unfortunately you don’t get that with the Traverse’s. Don’t get me wrong they are a great feeling shoe and I have no doubt they would be a 5 star shoe for someone else, but I’m just looking for that nice plush sweet spot

Inconsistent Sizing
I have a pair of Topo Athletic Pursuits in a men's size 9, which gives me about a half inch of space between the end of my big toe and the front wall of the shoe's toe box. They are very comfortable and I enjoy running and walking in them. Unfortunately, however, when hiking in them I experience toe strike. So for hiking, I decided I would try a pair of the Topo Athletic Traverse shoes. When purchasing them, I ordered a men's size 9-1/2 to allow a bit more room to help avoid the toe strike I was experiencing with the Pursuits. My concern in doing so, though, was the Traverses might end up being too large. My concern proved not to be the case and instead of being too large, the Topo Traverse shoes were too short! Unlike in the Pursuits, there was no space between my toes and the toe box. My toes literally touched the front of the shoe. Topo Athletics needs to do a much better job ensuring that sizing within and between their product lines is consistent. Otherwise ordering online is a crapshoot. Based upon my experience, I'm now hesitant to order any other products of theirs over the web without first making sure I try them on in a brick and mortar store. This is a shame since there aren't any stores near me that sell Topo Athletic products. So, in summary, if you are like me and are thinking about ordering a different Topo Athletic product from that which you are familiar, consider first trying a pair on in a store.

light, dry fast, 5mm drop, wide toe box, good grip
I've been testing the Traverse and decided to take it on the 500mile Camino. Performed well on all the advertised features.

Great shoe
I was hearing about this shoe from various sources that are in the hiking community. Some are thru-hikers. I needed a new shoe. My recent purchases of other brands weren't great. So, I tried TOPO and I'm really happy with it. High quality. Great fit. Comfortable. Supportive. I'd highly recommend. Fit is spot on. I'm a 10 - 10.5 US. I bought a 10.5 US and it was spot on.

Seems great but not for wide/high volume feet
I had really high hopes for Topo overall after hearing all the praise of people switching to them from Altras but unfortunately the fit of them was strange for my feet, right length based on my normal size but tight all over except the toe box. The toe box seemed slightly wider than normal, on par with my Brooks running shoes, but not as wide or square as Altras. The rest of the shoe seemed like it was made for a narrow or low volume foot. It was tight across the top of my toes, the tongue didn’t even cover the whole top of my foot and I barely had enough lace length to tie them. The style, colors, materials and build all seem on point. I especially liked the outsole, cushion and rigid heel (much stiffer overall coming from Altra Lone Peaks). They also incorporated a lot of small design details in how the cushion was shaped, stitching, etc. I’ll try upsizing or see if they make a wide because I like the idea of them so much. The shoes would be a 5+ star except for fit, just seem to not be made for my feet.
