Look for another leadership book
I couldn’t even finish it. The structure is awful. The point is diluted. It is very repetitive. There are far better books on leadership from war veterans.

I am not enjoying the structure of the book at all. I find it messy and this makes it hard to grasp the "goodies" so to say. Then I recommend Extreme Ownership by Jocko Willink and Leif Babin where they give a "war scenario" and then apply it in a business case.

Tried and tested fundamentals of Leadership psyche
Easy to read, common sense approach to the fundamentals of Leadership psyche and behavioural strategies to deal with challenges in a whole range of everyday scenarios based on the same skills that got these guys through. I could immediately see how applying these techniques to my own experiences would have had significant impact both personally and workwise had they been known at the time. The only downside for me was the books 'gung-ho' cover doesnt really do the contents justice.

This is the first book I can honestly say I have read,I have read it all without taking a break it has taking me around 4 and a half hours I was glued to it a lot more than expected, it definitely brings to light some life lessons not only in the special forces but in life too in day to day jobs and interaction

Why not SBS?
Interesting to read about how to handle life from an SF point of view.To me though, since three of the four authors served with the SBS (Special Boat Service), not the SAS, the book's title should beSBS: By Strength and GuileThe SBS, originally the Special Boat Squadron, has existed longer than the SAS.

Boring
Awful read with lame stories. Not what I expected at all, I was expecting more in depth stories and detail on operational experiences. No such luck, this was just them taking turns in the book to bore me to tears

Good but misleading title and cover
Unfortunately, there is not much guidance on leadership skills but quite a bit on other topics.I felt a sense of achievement in sticking with this to the end - nothing compared to running uphill in a blizzard with a heavy pack of course. It took a few days for lessons to sink in and they were more related to personal behaviours than leadership - determination, control, self-discipline and so on. My test of such a book or training is that 30% be useful and this passed that hurdle for me.The anecdotes provide variety and a form of relaxation from what would otherwise be a dry textbook; however, I grew very bored and tired with seeing the words Forces and Special so many times.Hence others may be more turned on by the posturing on the cover, S... F.... and so on, but I was educated and entertained enough by the book.
