Didn't work

Does not resemble the hella brand that came out of the vehicle originally. No HELLA stamp anywhere. My factory one had two spots that says HELLA. I'm not sure this is a real hella brand item. I'll put it in this evening and see if works and more importantly see how long it last.EDIT AT 6 MONTHS: IT ACTS UP. Works on and off. Sometimes i flick the lights on and off like10 times and it will light the bulb but it is currently out right now and the flick trick isn't working anymore. So buyer be ware. They have sent a replacement since this review.UPDATE: BALLAST IS OUT AGAIN. No moisture in headlight or surrounding area.The other side is a true factory unit and is still going stong at 11 years old.These don't last longer than 4 to 6 months if your lucky. Will try to get another warranty replacement sent out.

Purchased the part with a risk as my year of BMW was not listed as compatiable with the part, despite the model number, and every other aspect of the label matching what I removed from the car. A similar part (same model number 5DV 009 000-00) that is listed as compatible with my vechicle was listed for sale at 3.5 times higher price! I took the chance with this part as it matched and it fitted and worked great. If I'd had followed the vechicle compatibility guide, it would have cost me $190 vs $60 dollars on amazon... or $130 on an alternate parts website.

Great replacement ballast for a great price. OEM was almost 300. Found this and installed it. Issues fixed.
