La Roche-Posay Mela B3 Serum, Dark Spot Corrector With Anti-Aging Melasyl + 10% Niacinamide, Discoloration Correcting Serum for Sun Spots, Age Spots & Post-Acne Marks

Magical. I recently saw a dermatologist regarding my middle aged face. She sent me out the door with a few samples of this and a few samples of sunscreens. Loved them all. But this. Wow. If you are treating your skin with prescriptions that cause redness or dryness but you must push through to see the results you want- use this too! Cicaplast B5 and this magical serum will have your skin feeling soft, smooth, moisturized and a whole lot happier. Initially, smoothing this into my skin feels luxurious and lovely. The serum moves easily, absorbs and feels hydrating. Immediately, my skin is happier. It’s even happier 20 minutes later. I put this on while getting ready for bed and in the morning after washing my face. 1 week in and I think there is a visible difference. I am using four new products on my face to help with the case of Getting Old and this is one of them. Cicaplast B5, a sunscreen and face wash- from this brand, La Roche-Posay. I never tried them till the dermatologist recommended and this brand seems fantastic. The dermatologist I saw was younger than me but her skin was amazing. She glowed and her skin was translucent and utterly blemish free. I was listening to everything she said and La Roche-Posay was her favorite brand for herself and to recommend. What else does she do to keep her skin supple and radiant? I should have asked! My skin has improved and I am buying another bottle for a friend and probably for my Mother. I do have sensitive skin (Oil of Olay moisturizer used to turn my face red and burn like fire). La Roche Posay products have been excellent and irritant free. Recommended! Try it. It’s good. (I have tried Chanel’s La Blanc line. Lancome. Philosophy. Murad. I like the La Blanc face wash and everything Shiseido. Everything else was forgettable and ineffective.) The La Roche Posay products I have used make me curious to try more of their products.

I discovered this brand from my flight attendant friend coz her skin is so amazing that she doesnt even wear foundation!!! So I started using Mela B3 as part of my La Roche-Posay set, and this serum is the one I reach for every morning and night. My main concern was that my skin got darker from constant sun exposure while cleaning our pool in the Florida heat. And this brand is really helping me to bring back my lighter skin!!! What I like about Mela B3 is that it feels lightweight, non-sticky, and soothing. No burning, no stinging, and no breakouts which was my biggest worry. It layers well under my other la roche serums and moisturizer, and after a few weeks, I’ve noticed my skin tone looks more even and some areas of discoloration are starting to fade!!! The only negative is the price, but for something that works gently and doesn’t upset my skin, it feels worth it!!! If you’re ever unsure, you can usually check authenticity by scanning the QR code (when present) or verifying the product through their official website or app.

I have very stubborn deep dermal melasma from hormones (not surface-level "sun spots") and this is, by far, THE most effective over-the-counter melasma serum I've tried. And I've tried A LOT of them, some costing 4 times as much. After cleansing, I start with Vitamin C to boost my sunscreen efficacy, then I layer this over it about a minute later. Since it has hyaleuronic acid in it, it's a wonderful twofer of skin plumping/extra hydration and dark spot treatment. Then I do my day moisturizer and SPF and I'm all set. I did notice, with my very, very critical eye, that after 1 or 2 days of using this serum, my spots were inarguably lighter. Nothing else I've tried for dark spots has worked as quickly -or- as well. It's going to be in my ride-or-die in between my twice-yearly cycles of prescription hydroquinone cream. Does it fade spots completely? No. Nothing does. Not even (for me) prescription hydroquinone or Tri-Luma. But this sure as heck helps! Plus it smells nice.

This serum does what it’s supposed to but like everything else that promises to erase dark spots, it requires the patience of a saint. I am on my third bottle and the dark spots I have are fainter and losing definition. I imagine it will be another three bottles before I can say they’re mostly gone. However, this serum does a lot of things well and you should get it regardless. I have rosacea plus really fair skin plus twenty years in Florida so lots for a serum to unpack here. Within a couple of days of using this, my skin was plump and glowing. People noticed and were asking me about it. When I don’t use it for a few days it’s like someone took the instagram filter off my face. So, it has lots of great benefits besides the dark spot correction. Which it does that too if you live to see it. Not too crazy about the smell but it absorbs really fast and smooth so it’s gone in a couple of minutes. A worthy purchase in my freckled opinion.

Excelente producto, elimina las manchas, tanto las de "paño o melasma" como las de acné. Si la la mancha es pequeña en una semana desaparece, el paño lo aclara considerablemente con el uso constante, además de usar protector solar. Vale mucho la pena le producto. No me irritó la piel en ningún momento, su consistencia es ligera y con una o dos gotas es suficiente por aplicación, aunque depende de la extensión de la mancha.

If you prioritize something with a cute package and irresistible scent this is not your serum. However if you struggle with dark spots on your skin/melasma this serum is definitely a helper with guaranteed improvements. It’s not a miracle maker but since I started using it 2x day some of my dark spots lit up or reduced size. More importantly - had no other dark spots appearing on my face since!!! It smells and has the texture of a treatment product- it’s not fragrant at all and if applied in excess will create a yellowish paste on the skin. However if well applied and spread on the skin before your moisturizer none of this will happen. I was quite faithful to caudalie’s vinoperfect serum (has an equivalent cost) but this one, in results definitely makes la roche posay in the lead of anti-pigmentation skincare.

I’ve always been quite skeptical about cosmetic products — they often seem to promise more than they actually deliver. However, my experience with the Mela B3 Serum has been surprisingly positive. I’ve had melasma since the birth of my daughter, more than ten years ago, so I don’t expect it to disappear overnight with just one product. After about 30 days of consistent use, I noticed — and confirmed through photos — that the darker spots became slightly lighter, and some of the lighter ones have partially faded. I use the serum twice a day (morning and night), after cleansing my face with La Roche-Posay Purifying Wash, followed by sunscreen, which I reapply throughout the day. I plan to keep using it and hope to see even better results over time. I believe this is the kind of product that shows its best effects with long-term use and careful sun protection. It’s also worth mentioning that I have rosacea, which had recently flared up quite badly. Since starting Mela B3 Serum, my rosacea has improved significantly — I’d say by around 70%. The redness, affected area, discomfort, and itching have all decreased noticeably. Overall, I’ve seen a remarkable improvement in my rosacea.

Empecé a usar este sérum para tratar manchas y unificar un poco el tono, sabiendo que este tipo de productos no hacen milagros rápidos. Lo he aplicado de forma constante, sobre todo por la noche y siempre acompañado de protector solar durante el día. La textura es ligera, se absorbe rápido y no deja sensación pegajosa, algo que para mí es importante porque no me gusta sentir la piel cargada. No me ha provocado irritaciones ni reacciones, y eso que tengo la piel algo sensible. En cuanto a resultados, no se notan cambios de un día para otro, pero con el uso continuado sí he visto la piel más uniforme y con mejor aspecto general. Las manchas no desaparecen por completo, pero se ven algo más atenuadas con el tiempo. Como punto a tener en cuenta, el precio es alto para el tamaño del envase y hay que ser constante y paciente para apreciar resultados. Si alguien busca un efecto inmediato, probablemente se lleve una decepción. En conjunto, me parece un buen sérum para quien busca mejorar el tono de forma progresiva y sin irritar la piel, siempre con expectativas realistas.
