Solid metal build!
My 2.5 year old son's only Christmas ask was a "yellow choo-choo train." This fit the bill perfectly. He was so happy to open this up on Christmas morning -- I could tell that I had nailed it! He absolute loves this thing, and carries it around with him everywhere. He's not delicate with it (he's literally chucked it across the room), and it still looks new. The mechanism in this thing is great, BTW. You can pull it back and "winds up" and goes, but it also rolls freely forward. Great for toddler who don't quite yet get how the wind up thing works. Highly recommend this for your train lover!!

Our grandson, nearly 3 years old, loves his toy train! He has figured out the pull back function to make it shoot across the floor. Great heft and well made.

Very sturdy
My son loves this train maybe his favorite one yet! Very sturdy able to drop repeatedly with no breaks (he sleeps with it so it tends to fall nightly.).
