DETAILED ~ How to decompress and hang WITHOUT damaging your walls. Get that security deposit back!
Not to discredit anyone who may have had an issue with these. Maybe some had a bad delivery or just had a bad batch. However, I will discredit those who immediately give it a one-star because they came flat. You can tell they didn't do anything to fix it or look up videos, or do any research. These foams come flat so it can be packaged securely and not be ripped on delivery. Remember these are just foam. Now as you can see in my photos, I gave you a before and after result. They will be flat, however there were some of them that actually decompressed when I opened the packaging, but that was only some. For the rest of these guys, you have to soak them in HOT water. The water will naturally flow inside them and inflate, or decompress them for you. You only need to soak them for maybe 10 seconds at the most and wring them out like you would a wash rag or cloth. Done! They should be to their natural state. If you want to go the extra mile you can get a clothes steamer, or hair dryer to dry them off and make them inflate that way as well. I have a hair dryer but didn't need to use it as the hot water did all the work. Now, to hang these on the wall I use a satin pin (NOT COMMAND STRIPS, AS THEY MAY DAMAGE YOUR WALL), that are used for sewing, and stick them in the foam through my wall. (If you have a brick wall, I don't have a solution for that) They're very small so you won't notice them holding the foam on the wall. This also helps with your security deposit to refrain from damaging your walls if you are renting. What this foam does is it eliminates a decent amount of background noise and prevents from your voice reverberating off the walls causing an echo. If you are a streamer, or content creator, this is a welcoming addition. Now if you just want this for decorations that's good as well too. I hope this review helps you in any way, shape, or form. I wasn't paid for this at all and just wanted to share my results and the CORRECT way to use these. 😊 I'm a content creator on YouTube (not monetized) and these work beautifully. Just gotta put in the effort. I bought 4 of these. So I have 96 of them. Hope this helps!

Foam pads
Great value for the set. Just make sure you order the adhesive stickers with this cause it isn’t included in the price.

Very effective for home recording studio application
I purchased 24 of these foam squares and distributed them on walls and ceilings in my 14x14 foot home studio. After doing so, the room sound went from slightly reverberent to near-dead quiet. My acoustic and vocal recordings are sounding much better without the standing wave effect experienced earlier. These have proven to be a very effective and affordable solution for neutralizing small room sound, allowing for desired effects to be added later in the process.

Not bad for cheap, but not something that'll be your sole solution for acoustic treatment
I've got a small office that also doubles as my studio. I have a good mic setup with a solid isolation shield around it, but wanted something to help dampen some of the higher frequency reflections a bit, such as my keyboard (Roccat Vulkan Optical - super loud) and prevent some reflection bleed on the highs when recording louder vocals and guitar. These are fine, but you're not getting great quality here. Good acoustic treatment is EXPENSIVE. These are fine for a stopgap measure, and for decoration, but don't expect miracles. To properly treat a room's acoustics, you'll most likely be spending a LOT of money, including large acoustic panels (my recommendation), bass traps, and also spending time doing tests to determine the best methods for treatment. Also, for adhesion, I used command strips. Nothing comes with these, which is fine; most cheap acoustic foam comes with awful stuff for placement anyway. If you like, you can cut cardboard to place on the backs of these to help prevent tearing should you need to move them around. I didn't bother, since when I take them out I'll most likely only keep a few to fill a few spots here and there after proper treatment.

Compressed but they will expand
Throw them in the dryer and they expand. Work perfectly.

These DO NOT stick to the 3M adhesive squares!
If you try using the 3M adhesive foam squares to mount these, you will end up with a mess like I did. The 3M squares stick great to the drywall, but not at all well to the foam, so basically your wall will be in need o some repair after the tiles fall off.

Foam has problems expanding and remains flat
I immediately opened all the vacuum-sealed packages once I got them. The blue foam expanded without issue after sitting overnight, but the black foam remained mostly flat and stuck together. I then manually pulled apart each sheet of the black foam, laid them out on my floor individually, and waited another 36 hrs. Some pieces gained about 10%, but for the most part, the black foam refused to expand and remained stuck to itself. I then tried soaking it in water and letting it sit in the sun, but both of those procedures did next to nothing. After nearly 72hrs since opening the packages, I eventually had to manually "pull up" each "peak" of the pyramids to force the foam to expand. It felt as if it was sticking to itself together internally. After each peak was pulled up, the reverse side had an indentation that I then had to pull out as well. This took an extremely large amount of time and I ended up tearing a few panels in the process. Since the foam has expanded to nearly 3-4x its original size, I can no longer fit it into any decently sized box for return. Definitely will not purchase again.

Installed on ceiling in apartment
Shipped in good time, little expensive to purchase. They take at least 24 hours to expand after shipping. Easy to install, used clear sticky tabs to install on my bedroom ceiling. Used the 2 inch ones hoping it would cut the noise down, it did about 50%.

Extremely low quality
Really unhappy with these, tiny prices of foam are disintegrating everywhere inside the house, I believe these are extremely unsafe as well, breathing the tiny particles also irritated my breathing and my skin, it’s not right to sell such a low quality product that’s clearly unsafe

Quality
I bought two packs and attached them with double sided tape. They stick very easily and look fantastic. They're not true soundproofing tiles but do really dampen noise. This is my sons room and we noticed a real drop in noise if he's chatting online. A big thumbs up.
