Does exactly what it says on the tin!
Let me make this very clear: if you like Kevin Smith's films, you will really love this DVD. If you don't, I wouldn't recommend it unless you are willing to let a lot of material fly over your head. Kevin spends loads of time talking about the characters and plots of his various films - all of which is interesting and funny - but there's also other stuff which is just gold-dust. His account of how he was drafted in to write a script for a new Superman film is just brilliant: the producer tells him that he must follow these rules: 1) Superman cannot fly, 2) Superman cannot wear his costume, and 3) At some point Superman must fight a giant spider. I challenge anybody not to find this section of the DVD worth its price alone! Almost as good is when he recalls his production of a DVD with the music artist Prince... In fact, forget what I said at the beginning of this review: you HAVE to buy this DVD, whether you're a fan or not.

An Evening With Kevin Smith
I love Kevin Smith's films, and listening to him speak, I enjoy his delf-deprecating humour, sarcasm and ability to tell fun stories.But for close to nearly four hours? Ouch, even that can start to lag a little towards the end.

Amüsante und informative Frage-und-Antwort-Show
Kevin Smith ist Regisseur von Filmen wie Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back und zuletzt Clerks 2, Außerdem tritt er in fast all seinen Filmen als Silent Bob neben seinem Kumpel Jay (Jason Mewes) auf. Seine Inszenierungen leben vor allem von Smith's eigenen Art von Humor und den kultverdächtigen Dialogen, die sich um Themen wie z. B. Star Wars, Comics und natürlich Sex drehen.Die nun vorliegende Doppel-DVD beinhaltet einen gut 3 1/2 stündigen Zusammenschnitt von mehreren Auftritten des Regisseurs an verschiedenen amerikanischen Universitäten. Dabei hatte das Publikum die Möglichkeit, Mr. Smith mit Fragen zu löchern.Herausgekommen ist dabei eine sehr amüsante und zugleich informative DVD. Auf jeder der mehr oder weniger originellen Fragen der jüngeren Zuschauer weiß Smith eine Antwort. Hauptsächlich drehen sich die Fragen und Smith's oftmalls mehrminütigen Erwiderungen direkt um seine Filme. Es ist daher von Vorteil, wenn man als Käufer dieser DVDs mit dem Schaffenswerk des Regisseurs halbwegs vertraut ist. Neben konkreten Fragen zu seinen Filmen werden aber auch Themen aus Smith's Privatleben oder dem Showbusiness (Smith's Doku über Prince!!!) angerissen. Während einer Veranstaltung steht Kevin Smith sein Kumpel Jason Mewes zur Seite und beanwortet einige Fragen.Für Anhänger von Kevin Smith und seinen Filmen ist dieses DVD-Set ein absoluter Pflichtkauf. Wer sich also an dem teilsweise etwas vulgären Wortschatz (F......!) des Regisseurs nicht stört, sollte sofort zugreifen. Als Extras befinden sich noch 4 Trailer sowie einige Easter-Eggs auf den beiden Scheiben. Für des Englischen nicht ganz so sichere Zeitgenossen befindet sich eine englische Untertitelspur auf den DVDs.
