Perfect during the pandemic
Although marketed as fire door holders, these have been perfect for holding fire doors open in our office during the pandemic. Now colleagues don't need to touch the doors during the day which is great for ensuring we are remaining covid-safe.

Doesn't work, faulty
Got back from holiday, went to fit this... It holds whilst learning the alarm, says learnt alarm then no longer holds.. Try teaching alarm again E5, B4 codes over and over... then sometimes says its learnt it and still doesn't work. My staff threw the box away so I'm screwed there for returning. Still have instructions and product in tact

WOULDN'T RECOMMEND
Bit disappointed as these are suppose to go off when the fire alarm does but they randomly close whenever.

How to not touch doors during COVID
Have recently installed a number of these in the office I manage. They are marketed as fire door holders but work on any door and we have installed them so colleagues can walk through doors without touching them. we have set them so at end of day they release automatically so they only have to be reopened the next morning.

Sun standard and dangerous
Spoke to technical with faulting geofire units - if knocked or banged with the door the magnet glass switch is damaged and doors don’t stay open. We have these in our vulnerable adult residencies - they are a little heavy handed. Batteries keep popping out and then need reprogramming! Not fit for purpose. I am the fire warden responsible for fire safety - do not purchase! I am implementing wired systems across all 130 apartments for guaranteed piece of mind
