Worth every penny!
Lets just start with how gorgeous this pan is! It is absolutely beautiful. It comes seasoned and ready to cook with after a light washing. It is perfectly non-stick, when preheated well and can be used for everything. This is also the smoothest piece of cast iron that I have ever encountered. The craftmanship is exquisite. I make everything from cornbread to pancakes and falafel in this pan. It is my go-to cookware. One thing to note is that the color will change a bit as you re-season the pan, but it remains beautiful, functional and versatile. This is truly a generational piece of cookware.Pros:BeautifulWill be the last pan of this type you will ever need to buyVersatile. You can cook anything in this pan.Cons:HeavyRequires some maintenanceI would recommend this item 100 times over. I have learned that all I really need in my kitchen is a couple good pieces of cast iron and I can cook literally anything.

Great cast iron pan
The Stargazer 10-inch cast iron skillet is a standout in the world of cast iron cookware. From the moment I unboxed it, I could tell this was a high-quality piece. The sleek, polished cooking surface is a game-changer—it’s incredibly smooth, making it more naturally non-stick compared to traditional rough-surfaced cast iron. This also makes cleaning much easier, as food doesn’t cling as stubbornly. The design is both functional and elegant. The handle is longer than most, which not only provides better leverage but also stays cooler for longer when cooking on the stovetop. The flared sides and curved lip are fantastic additions, allowing for easy pouring without spills—a small detail that makes a big difference. In terms of performance, it heats evenly and retains heat exceptionally well, just as you’d expect from good cast iron. It’s perfect for everything from searing steaks to frying eggs or baking cornbread. Once properly seasoned, it performs like a dream, and the seasoning only improves with use. While it is a bit heavier than some other options, I consider this a fair trade-off for its durability and superior cooking performance. The extra weight feels solid and sturdy in your hands, reassuring you that this is a pan that will last a lifetime.Overall, the Stargazer 10-inch skillet combines modern innovation with the timeless reliability of cast iron. It’s not just a pan—it’s an investment in better cooking. Highly recommended for anyone who loves quality cookware!

For Iron Skillet Lovers
Years ago I found a rusty 1950s Griswold #9 in a local antique store for $25. I restored it and have been cooking with it ever since. Cooking with and caring for my iron skillet is something I enjoy. I purchased this 13.5 braiser for the added size. Though I bought it seasoned I decided to season it an additional four times (see photos) my final seasoning was done with bacon. I’m pleased with the process and the overall craftsmanship of the Stargazer. It is a beautiful braiser/skillet that will see many years and possibly generations of use. Yes, a Stargazer lid would be nice and I imagine it may be in the works if the company continues to experience success. It is much lighter than my old Griswold and just as smooth. I know with continued use, it will be just as easy to cook with. Very pleased with this purchase. Update. Three cooks this weekend. Fantastic non-stick cooking. Proper seasoning and care is the key.

Nice
I was in the market for a smooth pan and these are perfect. I ordered another one in a different size after trying it. I don't really use my other brands now

Disappointed
Used once, lightly washed, set in strainer. Pan rusted in multiple places. Beautiful shiny interior of pan is lost after cooking bacon once. Doesn’t look right st all. Disappointed. Don’t buy this pan for its pretty and slicker bottom vs others bc it only lasts until you use it once! Was seasoned and ready to use upon arrival. Just buy cheaper ones. Oh and you WILL need a handle cover! It gets hot enough that its needed.

Liking it so far.
I'm not sure how I will like this overall in time. I like it so far very much for the size, style and weight. I don't like that it doesn't come with a lid, and I don't know if this in time will outweigh the extra expense...

Love it
I cleaned it with soap and water when I bought it even though it had a coating of seasoning from the manufacturer, and followed the process of two or three seasoning coatings on it with the grapeseed oil and in the oven, as their sheet of directions indicated. I've been using it for steak and I really love it. Here's a picture of it dirty after a steak. Haha. Sorry I didn't take a picture with the steak. Haha. I used the grapeseed oil to season and salted butter to cook steaks. I use a very fine stainless steel mesh washcloth and hot water if I need to clean it a bit from a little too high cooking of steak sticking. My favorite part is that the surface is nice and smooth unlike the pitted Lodge.
