Best "learn to read" series I found
This series, including Level 2: Snack Attack, got my son over the initial reading hurdles and into reading picture books on his own. We were looking for books to reinforce at home what he was learning in kindergarten. Until I found this series, he would get overwhelmed practicing his reading skills due to the number of new words in even the simplest "learn to read" book I could find at the library. This series breaks it down to the basics and introduces new concepts one at a time. The stories are short, words and key sounds are repeated frequently, and the pictures are engaging. My son found a whole new sense of confidence when learning with these books and we soon ordered every set we could find. He read two stories to us each night (first in order through the level, then he could randomly pick which ones he wanted for repeat readings) until he had 'mastered' a level (i.e. could read the books with relative ease). Then we'd start the next. He finished all of the levels within a few months, moved on with confidence to regular picture books, and is now one of the top readers in his 2nd grade class (reading several grade levels ahead). FIVE STARS.

Best phonetic books for new readers!
Hundreds of children that have attended my Phonics center has read this level and most of the other levels of Nora Gaydos books. I wish I could find them easier in complete sets of 10. Students feel so successful after reading all 4 levels of her books. She keeps them Phonetic and sprinkles sight words here and there and never too many at a level. Students gain confidence while learning to read. Wish I could get another set of all four levels.

Gets my kids reading
As a mom of 3 little ones, I'm always on the lookout for good books that build their confidence reading and keep them interested. If we want our children to enjoy reading we have to get them into books that are interesting. These are perfect for little hands - at the 4-6 year old level they are just what that age group wants: funny. Silly. Fun. And kids get to earn stickers for reading independently (with stickers included). We used the Level 1 books with such great success I couldn't wait to get Level 2. My oldest is now in 4th grade, and reads at a 7th grade level. The middle child is in 2nd grade reading at a 5th grade level. And the youngest - the reluctant reader - is in kindergarten, now reading at a 1st grade level. This is the series that got them there. We tried several others, but only these were interesting enough that reading wasn't a chore. I wholeheartedly recommend the series.

The best reading books for beginners out there
The best reading books for beginners out there! My 5 year old daughter learnt to read with the level 1 book Animal antics. Simple words, short sentences and perfect illustrations. Once she had mastered level 1, I decided to try level 2. And I am so happy that I got this. It is a perfect next step for beginners to add slightly more complex words and sounds to their reading list. It challenges the readers but does not overwhelm.

Exactly what I ordered, was perfect
Was exactly what I was looking for and at a great price. We had the first one that was gifted from a friend and my kiddo had mastered it so we needed some more! Thanks

I like this series of readers
I like this series of readers. They are bright, cheerful and fun for young readers. I bought this level two set for my students that are reading at a slightly higher level. I do wish that they were organized a bit differently. I teach silent e words before long vowel digraphs and they are mixed in these readers. But it's not a huge problem and I will be able to use the set with some of my students anyway.
