What is the maximum cable size in mm^2 it can handle?

It is rated at 32amps , so the maximum cable size is 6mm

Why some pictures show 690V? I thought 230V

I am no electrician but if memory serves me correctly its to do with the input. Mine is wired to three phase wiring 440v but i am only using a single phase to power it to achieve 240v. 690v is the maximum low voltage three phase power before stepping upwards to high voltage power. Hope this helps

Can this be fitted outside and when plugged in, is the connection weatherproof?

It’s only IP44 rated so it’s only splashproof - need to buy a higher IP rated socket for outside use.

Does it fit on standard BS 2 gangs wall box?

No, it is designed to be wall mounted on it's own. it is much bigger than a standard socket box.
