Evan Fischer Distributor Compatible with Volkswagen Beetle 1955-1979 Super Beetle 1971-1979 Karmann Ghia 1956-1974 Replaces# 0231178003

I received the distributor quickly. It looks well made and it came ready to install. The red wire connects to coil positive and the black to the negative. I decided to wait for installation until receiving a new electronic Bosch 30019 voltage regulator as the mechanical one I had was over twenty years old and the voltage not steady.Connect the plugs wires one by one as on the older cap and notice the position of the distributor and rotor before removing the old. With this combination distributor and new Bosh regulator my 1971 VW Super Beetle works smoother and may save some fuel. I noticed also my coil barely gets hot, before it was getting super hot!

The particular one I received didn't work but I believe it was the cap didn't fit quite right but the company didn't hesitate to send a pre paid return slip. I would not hesitate to do business with them in the future.

Simple replacement of old distributor. Swap out new for old, remove distributor cap andposition distributor for approximate static timing, replace distributor cap, connect red and black wires to ignition coil, plug in coil and plug wires, start engine and using timing light set timing, tighten lock bolt and done. Took maybe 10 minutes to remove, reinstall and setup.

Very easy upgrade. Pulled the old distributor, plugged the old vacuum line connection, moved the plug and coil wires over to the new cap, connected the red (+) and black (-) wires to the coil and fired it up. Runs great!

easy to install and have had no issues with it, i like it.

Fits perfect easier than points. Hopefully it lasts!
