While it was tricky reaching the water surface from aboard, once placed into the water, it gently bobbed among the slight waves. It floated long enough for the Israel Kamakawiwo’ole song version of ‘Somewhere Over The Rainbow’ to play to end, then it slowly slipped under the surface and down into the depths. It was perfect, though emotional.Plan ahead. You do need to glue (included) the top onto the bottom, once ash filled, and place included clips on for sealing pressure while glue dries; overnight is best. The urn is great quality and very pretty. The material is similar to a strong mache. We sealed the edges with the glue provided. The urn is fairly large, about 15" in diameter and held a full size adult ashes. We placed the urn in the water which had a few gentle waves. We added some flowers from our yard and sprinkled the pedals on top of the urn. The urn floated about 5 minutes and then gently sank as expected.
