It’s not rubber. Despite the name it is made of thin plastic. Not worth the money. I cannot recommend this lid.

When I went to buy two new garbage cans for a upcoming party at Home Depot I found out that they do not carry the lids to them. Um what?! Why wouldn’t you get the freaking lid when you buy a garbage can? Well I had to turn to good old Amazon to track down some lids. I checked all the sizes and numbers before ordering to make sure I didn’t get the wrong size and they fit perfect. They both click on so you know it is sealed, which is great because it just started to rain here and now I don’t have to try and drag them under the overhang so they don’t fill up again.

I don't know why this isn't sold with the can itself, as they could be attached together in probably the same box. Still, this item is well made, reasonably solid, and I suspect will last for quite some time. I used a marker to label the lid and put clear mailing tape over it to protect it from the elements. I had been using a larger trash can, but rarely came close to filling it, but since the garbage hauler charges less for the smaller can, I purchased this set, for the payback was about 6 months. Initially, I ordered the rolling base, but that wasn't needed, for the can - even filled - is light enough and I can put it on a pull cart if I wish, while a separate roller would be subject to theft while its cost would considerably extend the payback

This is an excellent product. The quality is sturdy and fits the brute garbage can well. We purchased six of them but had to return because we wanted larger garbage cans. The CSR was great. We had a no hassel return and our refund was swift. I.

The Brute 20 Gal top was a perfect fit to my 20 Gal Brute recycling bucket. It is relatively easy to put on and take off. To put on, I align the top to the bucket handles and push it down one side at a time till it clicks. To remove, just pick up at one handle and it pops off.
