I have had a Sansco Model 8704 NVR CCTV System for two years and felt it was time for an update of my original review.It continues to be a great CCTV system especially for the price, being Digital the quality is excellent both for live viewing via my PC and the XMEye Mobile Phone App recommended by Sansco. The recorded playback is sharp and clear and you can read number plates and see faces at a reasonable distance. Twilight and night vision are also very good going well beyond the white post in the picture [Note: The distance is enhanced in the photo by my neighbour’s IR LEDs on his cameras (not Sansco and his installer has been back several times!)]I have now installed two of these systems. I did have problems with a camera on each system, one was slightly out of focus at the edge from new and the other failed after 9months. Sansco Support are fantastic and replaced both with identical models with no quibble and under warranty. They were also able to advise on replacing the Hard Drive with a larger storage device which now gives me a month of recording history on all four channels. (This was changed after the warranty period). Their response is usually quick and precise and they are definitely one of the best technical Support Desks I’ve dealt with in a long time.This is a great system and I would recommend and buy other Sansco products based on my experiences with them.The Model 8704 NVR CCTV system was easy to set up and just sits there and works, which exactly is what you want from a CCTV surveillance system.Update: March 2025Two years on and the six year old system is still working well, needing no attention except for one of the total of 8 cameras installed failing. These things happen.This has been replaced by an updated Sansco 4MP IP (PoE) Model 4699 Camera, recommended by the excellent Sansco Support Team, and has proved to be a simple “Plug and Play” swap-out and is as good, if not better, than the original camera.I have changed the Storage Disc to 2Tb which gives almost a month of storage before it is over written, again a simple “Plug and Play” swap.The system has now been successfully installed in a remote building using a Passthrough Powerline Wifi Extender with Ethernet Ports (from a well known manufacture) successfully connecting the main unit and some cameras to the house network and Broadband for remote monitoring. NOTE: A PoE (Power over Ethernet) Hub or PoE injector is required to power any cameras not connected directly to the NVR device, again being IP it didn’t require any complicated configuration work.I am so impressed with Sansco that I have purchased their newer updated system as I now require additional cameras.

The whole set works straightaway out of box. I connected everything up and all just worked immediately. Fairly easy to connect. RJ45 single wire both for power and signal for each camera, which is a neat advantage. Much more reliable than wireless. 1T disk storage in DVR is too little - should have options of 2T or 4T - I would not mind paying more for large disks. I can re-use an old NTL phone line hole in the wall so installation is easier. I am able to find a handyman and got 2 cameras mounted for £70. The AI alters work well too - didn't miss anything. Night vision is OK for this price. Mobile app is fine, but can't play back over mobile. DVR playbacks work OK so far. Overall the 5M camera quality is good and solid resolution & color in summer daylights. We will see how it works in raining and winter nights. Overall the whole set is absolutely good value vs quality for money.

Great system easy to set up , but the cat 5 cable that came with it one cable was damaged when I tested it so I just put metalled my own cat 5 and put my own rj45 ends on , otherwise goood value for money 👍

This item is well worth it's money. easy to install and very easy to use and opperate. The picture quality is brilliant and has been used already been used by the police and it was all in real time and can be recorded and sent out. This has now been in for a number of years with no issues and its never missed a thing. Its condition even after a long time is still in perfect condition. There is plenty of wire to reach everywhere in my house, because it's not wireless there's a bit of work setting it up but it's worth it because the picture quality is far superior to what you'd get with wireless. (the reason for the upgrade). This is also good to monitor when your away from home as I have used this when delivery drivers stated that they have delivered something but they took it away with them...... so this has been worth its money. Sansco are good and any problems have been sorted quickly by a very helpful customer service team.I'd highly recommend this system to anybody who wants a very good quality security camera set up.

These are great value for money. The cameras, picture quality and senitivity is superb. This model comes with four cameras but you can connect another four cameras (8 in total) to expand the system later. The cameras are connected to the recording box via ethernet/RH45 type cable and connectors. This means the camera power, audio and video signals are all carried together in a single cable and connection. On screen set up by plugging in a mouse and navigating around the TV display. I found it intuative to get the system working quickly. Looks great on a big HDTV. Standard HDMI cable connection. Connect the recorder to your internet hub via another ethernet cable for remote access. Anyone with basic knowledge of consumer electronics and DIY will find this easy to install and get working. Tip: you should really consider locating the recorder in a hard to fine place so if you do have a break-in it is not easily found and removed from site.

Great cameras and dvr system. Really happy with the camera quality and the system itself. Easy to use and straightforward, highly recommended for anyone looking for a good cctv system.

Ordered these for the outside of our new house. The 1TB box holds months and months of recording. The app works well and is easy to use, and the 2k quality on the model camera's we got is super high quality video. They were easy to install and the app was relatively straight forward to setup and use, and connects pretty quick straight away. Customer support is good too - they reply very quick and resolve any questions quickly. Really can't go wrong for the price.
