A Great Conversation Starter!
This easy-to-read and colorfully illustrated book generated great conversations with my 3 & 5 year old granddaughters. Together we spoke about appreciating all they have but often take for granted, and how "items" don't equate to happiness or encourage imaginative fun. I could see both girls absorbing the moral as this story progressed. I am definitely happy I made the purchase (based on the very reasonable price and the heartwarming back story of how this book came to be published) and would highly recommend it to others with young children.

Humbling
This is a beautiful story of teaching children you can have everything in the world and yet you still don’t have enough, but having only little is better than having everything. It shows how it is better to appreciate what you have and not demand more when others have less then you and humbles the soul and as someone who grew up poor I am truly grateful for what I have yes I can give my child more because I am better off but I give my son more by giving him what he needs and not what he demands. Publishers who turned this story down 50 years ago are probably kicking themselves as they could have been the publishers that published this great children’s book. It is a great story to teach children appreciation for what they have and not what they want by demanding it and be humbled for having love instead.

Such a cute children's book
Awesome little children's book, with a great message. I love the rhythm of it, flows easily, and just rolls off the tongue reading it aloud. The illustrations are adorable. My daughter loves it equally, proven by reading it 4 times in 3 hours 😅
