Only worked for about an hour then died. No reverse connections no wire problem it just quit on me.

I'm very happy to find such a small and low priced MPPT charge controller. I wanted a small controller to use with my QRP Ham set up and this perfectly fits the bill. The only down side is that this unit is noisy. Easily fixed though. Just take a 240-43 mix toroid and wrap the power cord between the controller and the radio with as many turns as you can get on the toroid and the noise goes away. Now it works perfectly and I have not spent $140.00 on a Genasun controller to get an efficient and quiet, small charge controller. Easy and cheap fix that now does not cause any noise in my transceiver. If you are not using this controller for something like a ham radio. Maybe just to charge something like a battery or cell phone, the noise it generates should not cause you any problems as is. Most all charge controllers generate some noise unless you get one like the Genasun, which is very expensive. Ham operators, try one, you'll really like it.
