Good for what it is
This is not a hugely impressive book, but the exercises and examples are good. There's just not a lot of them. However, the ideas conveyed can easily be duplicated using other numbers etc, with a little imagination.... I think that with math, particularly when teaching a certain solving style, it is acceptable to have fewer actual examples if there is a variety of TYPES of example problems. In order to really benefit from the Singapore Math program I think it's important to utilize the entire collection rather than just rely on one or two isolated parts of the whole.

Best exercise book.
Best exercise book. Better than those used at school. I hope it has more problems.

Absolute Trash!
One of the great scams in the universe. How anyone could justify the stupidity of Singapore Math is incomprehensible. I grew up with a retarded sibling and even she could do math the old fashioned way. This concept and execution is for the birds. I bought this for the possibility of a job teaching it. Never again. A complete waste of money. Be warned....

Just the Right Amount of Problems Per Section
The Step-by-Step Problem Solving, Grade 7 workbook by Carson-Dellosa Learning Spot, is right on grade level. This is a workbook that should be used to supplement a curriculum as homework or for challenging one's self-strategy wise to solve problems quicker and have a greater understanding of such. The Skill Sets found within are;Skill Set 1: Analyzing Parts and WholesSkill Set 2: ComparingSkill Set 3: Identifying Patterns and RelationshipsSkill Set 4: DeductionSkill Set 5: InductionSkill Set 6: Spatial VisualizationSkill Set 7: Work BackwardSkill Set 8: Make a List/TableSkill Set 9: Use EquationsSkill Set 10: Guess and CheckSkill Set 11: Before and AfterSkill Set 12: Make SuppositionsFollowing the skill sets, there are three mixed practices which go through levels of easy, intermediate, and challenging. In the beginning of the book before the skill set chapters, there is an introduction, followed by the table of contents, and a Strategy Summary. The Strategy Summary is basically the formula/tricks that need to be followed in order to solve problems throughout the book.In each Skill Set, there are examples, give it a try, and several problems to solve. Typically one page has one to two problems each to solve. Adequate space is given so scrap paper isn't needed for jotting things down. Problems have three parts: Think, Solve, and Answer. If a student ever gets bogged down, confused, and troubled in solving a problem, there's an answer key in the back of the book that shows the exact steps taken to reach the answer. I appreciate that the answers key is so thorough. The book is in black, white, and gray. The pages are perforated so they can easily be removed and copied if needed making it useful to give to more than just one student.I am using this book to introduce higher level math to my oldest as she becomes interested. She's found the word problems a fun challenge to solve and if she's gotten stuck she's been able to figure things out with the given formulas. Great as additional homework or when extra is needed in a specific area. A fun challenge without being too busy or vague in detail.

Great presentation and organization
This is basically a logic/puzzle/game book that leads students through activities to help them internalize the steps for approaching certain types of problems using a "think-solve-answer" model. For example, Skill Set 10 teaches how to "Guess and Check". It first presents a sample: "Danny has 30 5-cent and 10-cent stamps. The total value of the stamps is $2.40. How many 5-cent stamps does Danny have?" Then, under a light bulb icon is lists bullet points for thinking through the problem. Under a pencil icon a graph illustrates how to guess and check various possible answers. Under the star icon, the answer is given. I have included a picture of this process to illustrate. Following this example where the student is walked through step-by-step, there is a "try it" section where the answer is given (upside down in the corner) at the bottom of the page. Then there is a succeeding page with the same type of question for a couple of practice problems. The whole manual is just 64 pages total, and that includes 8 pages of answer key, and 5 pages of instruction for the teacher. The instruction is really quite valuable, and I would urge any homeschool parent or professional educator to review them closely, as they enumerate both the objectives and the strategies that inform the book's content and delivery. Each page has one, sometimes two, problems - so all told, this is a book the student can work through rather quickly for a sense of accomplishment and some really valuable thinking habits and techniques for working practical math problems.
