I tried this in some yogurt and it really added a nice flavor.
SAKURA JAPAN PRODUCTS Kinako Powder Roasted Dried Soybean Flour, 500gram (1.1lb), 1-Pack manufactured by KOUTA SHOUTEN (Japanese Food Company)First impressions: Nice bag full of tan powder. The bag is not resealable, so have a plan for storage. It will stay fresher if kept in a sealed container, even a zip lock.Installation/setup: Use in recipes, add to fruit, smoothies, cereals or the like.Final thoughts: I tried this in some yogurt and it really added a nice flavor. A little nutty. It’s a bit high in calories to try in smoothies for weight loss, but the nutrient load really makes up for that. I am saving some for experimenting, I make ceramics and there is a recipe for something called Obvera that calls for flour and yeast that is placed on a raku fired piece to give great results. I want to use this as that flour.Mix 2.6 gallons of warm water.2.2 pounds of flour.1 tablespoon sugar.2 packets dry yeast.Mix and ferment for three days, stirring frequently. Take your pots or vases out of the kiln while still red hot and dip in the solution, swirling it around until you like the look of it, then quench in water. When cool, rub and scrub surface to remove any residue. Coat with wax or a shellac to preserve the look. I like this and I’m glad I got it.⭐️1 star - I don't recommend it at all, poor quality.⭐️⭐️ 2 stars - I don't recommend it, it has multiple faults, or a very high price.⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 stars - It's passable, It has some faults but the quality is ok for what it is.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 stars - Product quite acceptable, it does what it promises.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars - Product that I totally recommend.

Pleasant nutty flavor
The flour has a pleasant nutty aroma. It tastes slightly sweet and somehow reminds me the taste of roasted ground oatmeal. I added a half of a cup of it to my regular flour pancake recipe in the ratio 1 part of soybean flour to 3 parts of all-purpose flour. The cooked pancakes acquired a light nutty taste of the soybean flour, which added an interesting layer or flavor. The soybean flour also added some chewiness to the pancakes. I also sprinkled it on my plain yogurt and enjoyed tasting the added flavor. Tasty and versatile product!

High quality kinako
My mom and I love kinako! But it's not something we can get access to easily and also not something we eat all the time. So super thrilled to have such a big amount! 1.1 lbs!Package: it comes in a big package with nothing fancy, looks almost like its sold for business. It's made in JAPAN! nice!Taste: It's pure kinako, how do you describe it.. it's nutty, like roasted soy bean and is finely ground, similar consistency as powdered sugar. I can tell it's great quality, theres really depth to the flavor and I can really taste the soy bean. Kinako is usually used with sugar but this almost tastes a bit sweet (maybe its a placebo thing but it tastes slighty sweet to me)Use: You can also add this with milk or make kinako latte, dressings, and there's also a lot of kinako flavored sweets like white chocolate kinako, sweetened kinako topped rice crackers, cake or even ice cream.Great quality if you like kinako!

A tasty way to boost your protein intake
We are trying to eat a more plant-based diet in our household while making sure to get the daily protein that we need. I had never tried kinako powder before and must say that I am a convert! It has one ingredient, and one only--toasted soybeans. The Sakura brand kinako smells fresh, toasty, and slightly sweet, and its flavor matches its aroma. It reminds me a little of ground peanuts. A tablespoon packs 70 calories but also a lot of nutrients: 6 grams of protein, 3 grams of fiber, only 1 gram of sugars, and no sodium. It also provides 7% of the recommended daily value of both iron and potassium. For breakfast this morning, I stirred a spoonful into my Greek yogurt, and my husband sprinkled some on his bowl of cereal. We both thought it added a pleasant nuttiness. I can see us incorporating it into smoothies, baked goods, and other dishes. Glad to have found this new-to-me product.
