Barbie Crayola Rainbow Design

The design is created by heat, but it is very easy to get the color change just by touching it. However, the design fades very quickly as well. So, your design ends up looking splotchy. It is a neat idea, however it didn't come out very well.

You don't need to use water: the fabric is heat sensitive. Friction will reveal the rainbow underneath but pure heat will also do the same. You can place the items in a plastic bag and chill it for a few minutes in the refrigerator or freezer to turn them black again (the bag is just to keep it clean from potential accidents.) AC is a must since the summer swelter will keep it tye-die or change it without even touching it. If kids want to play with it, they have to wait for it to go back to normal, which can still be awhile. I wanted it for a cute black bolero jacket and shorts, with custom designs as a bonus, but it's a lot of trouble getting that result. For me, it's going to be a winter outfit... The clothes seem well made at least and the price of the two outfits isn't terrible but not worth it if that's all you wanted.If you're looking for a customization kit for kids or adults, I'd recommend the Tara Toys Barbie Be a Real Fashion Designer Doll Dress Up Kit. It's more expensive and mostly dresses, but the options are good (the plain t-shirt is the most versatile), the price is good for five outfits (even better on sale), and they look good even if you don't add anything to them. :)

Could not get the color change to work. Too hard for any of us.

Product was too messy to use, not what I expected

It was ok. I bought it because of the leathery look, but it is always turning to rainbow...when it is cold is black and when it is hot is rainbow, but there is not too much opportunity to draw on it.
