SHIMANO23 Sedona Spinning Reel 500 - C5000XG

After having been through a fishing season with this reel I couldn’t be happier. It’s smooth, build quality is solid, and it doesn’t break the bank. There might be a better reel for less money out there, but I haven’t tried one.

I've admittedly been fairly cheap when it comes to my reel purchases. This is actually the most expensive one I own, but fortunately the quality is noticable. The price is justified if you're someone who enjoys fishing and prefers to use spinning reels.

Great fishing reel. Good drag system and no slop in the reel takeup system.

I like shimano reels and this one fits the bill. Good size and smooth just what I was looking for. Good quality nice to look at, this one sent me reeling.

I've used Shimano Sedona spinning reels for decades and typically feel they are topnotch reels at a very reasonable price. I had to replace a reel recently and chose the Shimano 23 Sedona Spinning Reel 500 - C5000XG for my light action rod. When I received the reel, I immediately noticed that it did not have an anti-reverse switch and was very disappointed. I don't understand why Shimano chose to remove a feature that was absolutely essential in my book. Bummer!

I bought this for half the price of everywhere else I’ve seen it does take a while to get it because it where it’s coming from

堤防、砂浜からのチョイ投げ用に購入しました。なんと言ってもこの価格でこの巻き心地、素晴らしいです。釣具選ぶ際、なぜかデザインの善し悪しで選ぶことが多いのですが、このセドナ、シルバーも安っぽく無く、少し使われている控えめな薄いゴールドも効いています。全体的に上品でエレガントな感じさえ受けます。番手の種類も豊富なので、シマノの低価格帯汎用リールの決定版ではないでしょうか。

息子用にコスパ重視で購入しました。結局は価格と性能でダイワとの2択になりますがシマノのこちらを購入。巻き始めが若干重く感じますがそれ以外は全く問題なくハンドルも滑らかで扱い易いです。価格で考えたらとんでもなく良いリールです。

20年ぶりくらいに釣具買いました。昔のような頻度で釣りに行かないと思うのでリーズナブルなこちらを購入しましたが、巻き心地や軽さなど分かりやすい性能が私の知っている昔のリールとは段違いで驚きました今時のリールなら10000円以内で十分高性能だと思います。見た目も昔より良くなった。
