First of all I have to admit the quality of this is a lot above my expectations. I expected the cheap plywood material that you usually get in those typical sets with animals/vehicles/buildings. No this is much better quality. The wood is really sturdy and the printed design is of great detail. If you take some pictures, in the right angle, right conditions, looks like a real place. It challenged me a lot to be honest, and I enjoy that. For example, little detail, the chandelier not only looks great, but it's really heavy for the size.Since it's my first miniature to build, I made a few mistakes. Definitely not for kids. Requires a lot of patience (not included in the box) but is totally worth it!Ps. Some pieces do not fit perfectly, but that's why they send you a little file for little touch ups. Also the tweezers included are really not amazing. I used my own.

That being said, this review is NOT swayed by that, and (as always) contains only my real thoughts on the product; good and bad.]I requested the ‘MiniCity Book Nook Kit, DIY Miniature Dollhouse Booknook Kit, 3D Wooden Puzzle Bookend’ Magic Library, as I have previously made a Booknook and thoroughly enjoyed the process and result. I have no experience of the MiniCity brand and really liked the look of this Magical Library (with LED’s) which will look perfect amongst the books on my bookshelf when it’s completed.I have enclosed photos of the project under construction and the colours and detail have exceeded my expectations. The instruction booklet is a bit trickier than the previous project I built but that could be me? Some of the pieces do need filing with the sandpaper that is enclosed with the kit, to get the correct fit, which is all part of the enjoyment. The intricate wooden pieces are all well fabricated and the glue and components all appear to be of good quality.No doubt this will take longer than the 4-8 hours suggested. I’m in no rush as this is a puzzle solvers delight, very hands on and with a lovely decorative Booknook to show at the end. Great value for hours of fun at £35.99 (at the time of this review). Hence 5 stars.

My teenage son is a puzzle fanatic, so I surprised him with the Book Nook Kit - Magic Library from Amazon. While the idea itself is fantastic – a 3D wooden puzzle that transforms into a miniature library complete with LED lights! – the arrival wasn't quite magical.The actual book nook kit itself wasn't damaged, thankfully, but it arrived loose inside the Amazon box. Having a dedicated box for the product would definitely give some peace of mind during shipping.Now, onto the good stuff! This kit is beautifully crafted. It comes with everything you need to build a charming little library scene, perfect for any book lover. The intricate details and small pieces are ideal for someone who enjoys meticulous and detailed puzzles (which my son definitely does!).We're just starting the assembly process, and the product description mentions it can take 4-8 hours to complete. Knowing my son, he'll likely take even longer – he likes to savour the process and not rush things.I can't wait to see the finished product though! It'll be a unique addition to his bookshelf and a testament to his patience.Overall, a great concept and a beautiful finished product, but slightly let down by the initial packaging. Still highly recommended for puzzle enthusiasts!

There is no glue with it

Okay listen, I just love the way this looks on your bookshelf and how it merges with the books.Is it very difficult to build, taking several hours in the course of a few days - yes! But is it something really cool to have on your bookshelf - yep, definitely.I assume that it would be a dangerous thing to have if you have children or pets, because they might ruin the precious time that you've invested in building this, so I guess maybe hide it somewhere high up and make sure you don’t touch any of the books around it.Something really cool is how you can take macro shots inside the “book” and there are so many details.Would definitely recommend if you like putting things together.
