very fast cpu. love the lower tdp wattage.dont let that fool you this cpu is fast.intel builds are must for me as my work software only reccomends intel processors. and honestly i think intel right now has better value for the money.i dont just want gaming performance i want performance in everything.after all is that what computers are all about?i highly suggest this chip.it is reliable and stable with out too much heat.

CPU is working great for me. I had actually ordered an i7 14700 because I was hoping to keep the power use down and not need a lot of case cooling. Depiction in the Amazon listing indicated and Intel part number that should have included a basic fan. What they shipped me was an 14700K (a slight upgrade), and it did not come with the CPU fan. Not really a problem for me as I was able to pick up a nice fan at a local big box store. This CPU was a nice upgrade from a motherboard with a 6 year old Intel i7 8700. The CPU is 5 stars. But giving a rating of 4 stars because the listing didn't match exactly what was shipped to me.

I struggled for 9 months with a 14900 that eventually crashed constantly for no apparent reason. The chip was flawed. After installing this, stability instantly returned. Premiere Pro and others perform the same as they never utilize close to any chip's potential anyway. After a return process of a few weeks, Intel gave a full refund to the 14900 chip I purchased here on Amazon. Doesn't erase months of aggravation, but it was good nonetheless.

I've put together a lot of both AMD and Intel based computers which are used for everything from hardcore software development (both front and backend) to 3D modeling to Video editing and gaming... And IMO this i7 CPU is fantastic universal CPU: - It has 20 cores! 8 performance cores (x2) and 12 efficiency cores so it's super fast especially on the multithreaded workloads (it can run all perf cores at the same time at 5.1GHz) - It's actually not hard to cool - it doesn't require liquid cooler contrary to all the reviews... I'm running it with $50 air cooler and it very rarely reaches 90 degrees. The trick is to set correct Cooler type or PL1/PL2 in BIOS (for example my cooler is rated at 230W so I set the limits to 175W/250W) - It has iGPU which is actually useful... Intel video decoders/encoders are high quality so even Davinci Resolve sometimes uses the intel iGPU in parallel to main NVidia GPU - IMO this is great CPU for the money - Runs with DDR4 memory - Perfect upgrade if you have intel 12X00, 13X00 system and need more multithread perf for what you do... - Gaming will be as fast as on the latest AMD 7800X3D, 9800X3D CPUs (Unless you have RTX 4090 GPU and running it on 1080P monitor) Cons: - Cooler coming with the CPU in the box is not good - spend $40-$50 to buy a decent air cooler - Intel socket 1700 is old so buying this CPU makes more sense if you upgrading - If you just use computer for gaming than 20 cores is total overkill - get AMD 7700/9700 or Intel i5 13600K/14600K instead.
