Packed with fascinating facts
All sorts of interesting facts and beautiful illustrations about our present day companions and their ice age ancestors. My six year old grandson devours and retains such knowledge. I can still devour, but retaining is a bit more tricky, nevertheless I too found this a fascinating book. Packed with information about the animal world it is definately educational in an entertaining, but non lecturing way. I realy enjoy the mutual pleasure we derive from this excellent book. PS so good that when offered another free from the Vine programme I grabbed it for my other grandson. He also loves it

Great book
This book is beyond fabulous. The pictures, mostly on a double-page spread, are so engaging, the creatures are well chosen and the facts are VERY interesting but not too tricky to read. This is ideal for my 9-year-old grandson but would be accessible to a much younger child and definitely interesting to older children. I have quite a wide general knowledge but this book had me captivated with new facts. Can a bat stand on its own two legs?! And what on earth is a Binturong?! Loved it.

Lots of twists in this book
The plot had so many twists. Every time I thought I finally knew who the murderer was, something would suddenly change, and I would have to build up my theory all over again
