My new favourite frying pan!
This iron delight is hands down my new favourite frying pan! It has already given us many a non-stuck meal and will certainly be coming along on our future 'kayak & camp' trips for the morning bacon. Even though the 'spun' iron makes it lighter weight than cast it's still quite heavy (not a backpacking pan) but it's kept it's flat bottom after being used as our main frying pan almost every day for about 6 months now. I like how the handle can be turned to fit nicely it into a bag to transport it and then put back on properly so no worries of dropping the pan like can happen with the clip-on camping pan handles, and there's the fact that we can use metal utensils without worrying about scratching and ruining any coating like Teflon types. (be sure to follow the care instructions and it won't fail you!)

Beautifully made, but it does require regular maintenance
If you're not prepared to re-season the pan periodically with a neutral oil (e.g. flax seed), then this won't be the pan for you. But if you look after it then it will last a lifetime. I particularly like the removable and reversible handle for transportation and even the wood can be removed from the handle to put the pan in the oven.

Not fit for purpose, terrible customer service
I really wanted to support a small British business, and never normally write reviews, but in this case felt I had no choice. I bought a pan direct from the manufacturer (reviewing here as they do not have reviews on their own site). I very carefully followed their long winded instructions on how to use the pan (heating up very slowly etc) but on first use the pan warped and buckled so badly that it is completely unusable. The food burns instantly in the middle of the pan (even on low heats) and then, despite washing it carefully without soap and immediately drying, it rusted all over. It cost nearly £100 and is now totally unusable. I repeat that I did exactly as they requested and did not mistreat the pan in any way. And now, after just one use, it's a rusty, buckled, warped useless piece of metal. I tried to return it and emailed the company very apologetically (as I hate to be a difficult customer, especially when dealing with a local small company), and they offered the following response: " Invert the pan over a flat and solid surface - an upended saucepan is ideal. Project an image of something particularly infuriating, such as a politician of choice, from your imagination onto the centre of the pan. Close your eyes and breathe in, holding that image on the pan. As you exhale, open your eyes and apply a sound thwack ( a mallet or duster covered hammer is the perfect tool) to the centre of the cold pan. This will restore the base to its original form and as long as it is not heated too quickly, will retain the form in future use." - I then followed this frankly irritating advice to the letter, but the pan remains warped, rusty and unusable. They have now refused all further contact and do not answer any of my emails. Despite never usually leaving reviews, I felt that in this case I had to as a service to others - I STRONGLY advise that you do not buy anything from this company, their method of manufacture is clearly flawed and not fit for purpose, and their customer service is rude, irritating and unhelpful. I have now launched a claim back from my bank to try and recover the substantial cost of the pan.

A very robust cooking vehicle
The very tool for coarse glamping beyond the ‘home the counties’
