It is difficult to find decent weighted and slotted popping corks and these are excellent. The style I got have rattling beads inside and I honestly don't know if that makes a difference or not to the speckled trout I try to catch. The reason I got these is to be able to instantly convert my rod with a 1/8 oz jig to something resembling a Texas rig. It's sometimes called a Cajun rig - the very popular popping cork with a sliding stainless steel wire. With the instant change I can avoid taking a separate rigged rod and my experience says the simple weighted cork works just as well. Another feature by using a slotted cork is the ability to change the length of line/leader below the cork. And one last point is important. With the Texas rig you need to have a fairly heavy jig or the sliding wire feature will not work, but I've found that the trout prefer a small jig with a 2 or 3 inch tail. The price is very good if the pack of 12 is bought. Since a lot of people seem to ask about made in China, these are made in the USA.

There seems to be questions about how many in package. It says 12 pk.That is what I got. A box of 12.I won't get to actually use them until next month but they are slotted, rattle and look like the ones you see in bait shops on the coast.

The stick in the middle is too small for the hole . Even when I double the line around the thing it still falls off.
