The older I get, the more I understand what brain fog truly is, and I never really noticed how it affected my life until now. I put myself on a mission to find something that could help me deal with this, and I came across Meyer’s book on brain optimization. And I was very glad that I did. The author possesses knowledge about the brain on an anatomical level that is explained in a very comprehensive way. Learning about the brain itself in the initial chapters of the book enabled me to really understand the techniques and advice given later on in the book. I liked the writing style and see value in the material presented. I would definitely recommend this to other people who would like clarity and fine-tuning of their brain so they can achieve more in their lives.

Optimize Your Brain and Its Capabilities!
Having good mental performance and optimizing your brain is such an important and crucial thing that’s simply not talked about enough. As someone who often suffers from mental fog, I was really interested in reading something that may help me improve my brain and its performance, and I think this book did exactly that and more! This book focuses on five main pillars of brain optimization: nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress management, and social connections. A healthy and nutrient-rich diet is so important for the health of our brains, and so I loved that this book provided specific nutrient-dense foods to eat that are beneficial. I really appreciate the amount of detail that went into this book, from first explaining the brain and its functions to plenty of ways to improve the health of it. I highly recommend reading this, as I think we could all benefit from bettering our brains!

practical advice to keep your mind sharp!
I really enjoyed this book. Our brain is basically all we have, our most precious gift. We need to take extra special care of it. In this book I learned some of the ways to maintain mental acuity and hang on to our cognitive abilities. This book offers up some very practical strategies and tips to work on our brains abilities. I would recommend this to anyone interested in any kind of mental retention or enhancement.

Really informative and interesting! Sometimes hard to follow but overall good read
I was really fascinated by all of the brain anatomy and function even though I struggled to follow along sometimes. I really loved the chapter on nutrition! I was super surprised by that too. I liked that it wasn’t about losing weight, but rather benefiting your brain health which is so important especially as I get older and I notice the signs of my parents’ memories starting to waver. The recipes also sounded so good and I really want to try them! Also the same with the following chapter on exercise was also a new way of framing it for brain health rather than just trying to lose weight. Overall, probably the most captivating book I have read from this author thus far.
