I used these along with some dried scallops to try making XO sauce. If you have not had XO sauce, you should! It's an amazing thing to have in your life! But what surprised me about the shrimps is that when they rehydrate, they are a decent replacement of fresh shrimps in say, soups or curries. Not bad to eat as is either.

I purchased this to add more shrink flavor to random dishes, pad Thai and to throw in ramen. I soaked them as instructed on the package. They still had the poop sac in them and they were a lot more chewy than what I was looking for. The flavor is just salty to me and every so often you get one that tastes like shrimp.

I bought these to grind up to help add flavor to dishes like Pad Thai where I want to boost existing shrimp flavor. My complaint is that I thought these were going to be completely dehydrated and grind easily. Instead, these are more like shrimp jerky and can really only be chopped finely instead of pulverized into a powder like I was hoping to do to them.
