Wonderful flavor and aroma
This Thooyamalli Rice has a wonderful fragrance as it cooks, and the taste is sweet and slightly nutty. I rinsed and soaked it for 20 minutes, and then prepared it in my Instant Pot on the rice setting and it came out perfectly cooked, light, and fluffy. I feel better about serving this to my family rather than white rice because I believe it's more nutritious since it's a heritage rice (non-GMO) that's sustainably grown without chemical fertilizers or pesticides. It's rich in antioxidants, high in dietary fiber, has a low glycemic index, and is richer in nutritional value than commercially grown white rice because it's grown in healthier soils. The rice comes in a sack with a resealable vacuum-packed bag inside of it. The kernels have a slightly yellowish tint to them before cooking, but they cook up pearly white. This rice tastes better than regular white rice as well (in my opinion), and I don't think the price is bad at all for a four-pound package. I'd much rather serve this as a healthier alternative to white rice, so I'll be buying more in the future!

rice has bad smell
I think this rice is not suppose to sell. The smell is really bad. I do ordered the same product before which was so good but this time smell like chemical when I cooked. Please check it.

Very Unique Rice
This Thooyamali Rice was vaccum sealed in a resealable ziplock bag. Rinsing the rice, there was a little more irregularity in grain color than I am used to with many other rices, but it appears that this rice is intentionally aged. When I rinsed and cooked it, there was a very unique aroma coming from the rice cooker. The texture was perfect. The flavor was nothing like any rice I've ever had. It is truly a unique flavor. I served mine with Sambhar Masala and it paired nicely with that.
