I have cameras and other equipment in my garage that I need to occasionally reset. My detached garage is well over 100 feet away from my router, and these plugs work great! I can kill power and restore it to any of my cameras or devices with these...even if I am not home. I use the recommended app on my tablet, tap the device I want to shut off, then tap the on/off button wait a few seconds and tap the on/off again, then watch my device come back online. I purchased the square version of these last week, and now have purchased these. These fit in a socket without blocking the other socket. You can also schedule devices to be powered off or on at specific times. I am sure many people would use this for turning on and off lights in their home. Pull into the driveway and turn on the lights in the house. I am sure there are a bunch of other uses for these. I am impressed at how far away from the router these still work. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ) I like that I can set my stereo to turn off ... *by B***T on April 13, 2018* This device does exactly what I want and the setup was a breeze. I’ll have to see how reliability is after it’s in service for awhile - I installed them today. Manual on/off works reliably. The countdown timer does too but that’s not my use case. The time specific on/off timer works as well. And the ability to tie together events in a “scene” is very slick and I’m using it already. For example: If you turn one device on, it can automatically turn othera on. Or hit the “perform scene” and turn multiple devices on. (Works the same way for OFF if you setup another scene for that purpose.) I like that I can set my stereo to turn off at 1AM every day (whether it’s on or not) without having to have a corresponding ON time. So if I turn it on manually but forget to turn it off, this device is a little safety net saving me 200 watts for however many hours it takes me to realize I left it on.The one mildly disappointing thing is that the scenes appear to be stored in the app on the iPhone (in my case). So you can’t share them with family members. Makes sense on one level.
