Update, after a year I have learned more and moved the units around work better!
Same as some others here, fiddly when it drops off the wireless.great when it works. It's not Sonos. I bought one which initially worked fine . Sound was great. Bought a second and I have to keep taking it down the garden to reconfigure. So I thought depends on your wifi and your neighbours. To fix it I bought some devolo mains connected Ethernet extenders and it worked initially , then back came the old problems of dropping off the wireless network. Then the app got an update , now my iPad works, the 3 android phones suddenly reset the app every 5 seconds, unusable. Contacted the manufacturer they said check I had latest app, which is what started the problem. So they were no use don't just blame the user! Anyway good sound when it works flakey app.. Depends very much on your local wireless and you apparently? My suggestion buy a Sonos proper mesh networked solution. More expensive but you get what you pay for. How What HiFi rate these as a 5 star product I don't know, perhaps they tested one for an hour then said yes that's great and moved on. They checked the sound but not the overall useability. I now have 2 wireless speakers which have to be wired in and only one device which wires. Not the wifi freedom I was looking for But expensive too a 500 quid. Poor support from manufacture they are no help.

Cannot recommend it enough - serious alternative to Sonos
This has been one of the single most used purchases I have made in recent years. I am in that typical household with growing children and the space I have for my larger setup to play CD's has vanished. It's got pushed up a corner, stopping me using it leaving me reliant on headphones and my phone. And sulking. I wanted a solution that let me listen to ambient music again in a room, streaming over BT from my phone mostly, and was loud enough to be heard over a 10w guitar amp. Additional flexibility with wireless play, other connection ports and multi room were added bonuses. It has proved itself very capable keeping up with the volume of the guitar (unless at unbearable levels) and without any loss of clarity or flabbiness in playback. So it scores 100% for that alone. Playback quality is also good enough to be able to distinguish between lower quality MP3's and Hi-res audio sources when at sufficient volume, something other Hi-res labelled speakers were not capable of when I tried them.Tapping into the network play features and also the pre-amp function with the red/white L&R connectors, I have something that is an excellent replacement for the larger CD playback equipment I gave up on last year. With multi room speaker functions to rival Sonos (the Audio Pro app isn't QUITE as slick as Sonos) and better playback quality too, I recommend this as a really good all rounder. Something Sonos speakers are not with their more singular focus on the primary function of wi-fi multi-room audio over those of flexibility and outright sound quality.Sure, if you are looking for some sort of solution to CD play back you are going to have to go through the steps of ripping to a computer and moving the files to a playback device, but for me it isn't a huge imposition as I routinely do that. But you can also use the red/white connectors to directly amplify a CD player (but at more limited volume than a larger amp obviously). So it works well for me but you need to consider your needs if you are in a similar situation. However, it has hit the mark for me. It can keep up with my guitar amp at home, has excellent sound quality, is well made, versatile and very well featured. Couple that up to being ultra portable and punching well above it's weight even during a recent party with about 30 people, I cannot recommend it enough. The only let down is a lack of remote, but that really is me reaching to find a negative.

Good speaker
Very good quality speaker. Using mine in the kitchen as a radio and much more music gets played now that it sounds nice. The control app is a bit gacky and it doesn't support Airplay 2. Also in Bluetooth mode it only connects to one device so occasionally you have to hunt for the phone that's actually connected. Overall I'm really happy with it.

Good sound but not easy to connect to wifi
Got this speaker today. Intend to use it as standalone for now with Spotify. Would not connect to my wifi network until I plugged it in via cable and then it all worked seamlessly.Like:Sound quality is goodBass and treble controlsSpotify connectWifi enabledLan connection on rearDon't like:For the price wifi setup should be easierBass distorts at high volumeLose the handle. Its mains connected so not portableApp is clunkyOnly 2.4ghz wifi supported (not 5ghz)What to do betterMake wifi setup easierMake the app better

This Award Winning Speaker is a worthy investment!
Excellent! Bought to replace a Philips DS9000 30 pin iPod dock speaker and this is far superior. Bought because it’s recommended in What Hifi 2018 Annual Awards and for the connectivity - WiFi, Bluetooth, I can also connect my Apple Universal dock (lead required) and my SL1200 (preamp required) as it has RCA connection. The app - others have grumbled about the control app but I think it’s pretty straight forward and easy to use.The sound - crisp, clear and punchy - great detail, I am really pleased with it and can’t recommend highly enough.*UPDATERemember that all speakers need a few plays to run in and my C5 is sounding better and better with each play. The clarity & detail are fantastic on a speaker at this price.* FURTHER UPDATENow playing my SL1200 mkII record deck through the C5 with a Rega Minifono pre amp & QED Profile Phono connector. The SL1200 has a new Ortofon 2M Red cartridge. The set up sounds superb and has brought new life to my record collection - very pleased and wholly recommend for a simple but great sounding set up in a regular family home.
