I cut out pieces to the shape of fingers for my expensive gloves, these gloves I use when I throw the ball for my dog when out walking, and the rubber type coating on the palm side were starting to wear from the friction, so using flexible rubber glue I stuck the cut out fingers on. This idea as worked very well. Review: Robust - but smells dreadful ! - This rubber sheet was bought to re-create a couple of gaskets for a vintage Land Rover - and worked well [nice and sturdy, so easy to cut cleanly to the required shape] but, weirdly, it stank !! The smell was as if it was fire-damaged ! I have used it to clamp a vice to my workbench instead of having to bolt it down. However, whether the rubber would cope with the wear experienced by the sole of a shoe is another question, which can probably only be answered by trying it. **Q: I'm needing really tacky rubber for rc car tyres. Is this very tacky?** A: Would need glue to stick on, not tacky at all. Also, very thin, smooth and shiny. I used it to make a weatherproofing gasket on my CCTV camera mount so imagine how thin it is. Can't imagine it would be suitable for R/C car tyres. **Q: Would this grip (not stick) to polished surfaces such as glass without sliding around?** A: Hi, as long as both surfaces are undamaged, clean, dry and dirt free... and placed on a horizontal smooth surface. It won't stick on vertical glass for sure.
