The ONLY Brand in our drawer
What else can you say about Cutco? Buy them once and keep them for life. Bought this knife to go with the wife's other red-handled Cutco. The original had a broken tip from (like someone else in these reviews) it being used as a screwdriver. The misses was so devastated about losing her favorite pairing knife. She has tried others, but says the Cutco just feels right in her hand.I am in my 50s and my mother still has all her original Cutco knives from the early 70s. One does pay up front for these knives, but the quality and longevity of Cutco cannot be beat. We won't use anything else!

Love the red handle even though it doesn't match my set
I bought this knife to replace the one that came with the original set. A male in our household used it as a screwdriver, breaking the tip then the knife disappeared.Love the red handle on this one, but the handle seems longer and thinner than that of the paring knife of the brown handled Cutco knife and serving set that my husband bought for me in 1968. The thicker handle in my opinion gave the user more control while peeling a vegetable or fruit.

Something has happened to Cutco
This item is DEFECTIVE - it is NOT the old Cutco quality. SHARP ends where plastic layers meet metal tang at the end tip. Very sharp. Ordered a 2nd one a little better but not old quality by any means.I LOVE Cutco - drawer-ful some many years old. White handle is newer - they are all precision workmanship. This is very disappointing - TWO red knives both with same problem. Came in thin plastic bag only - no paper, no care instructions, nothing to indicate the quality product that cutco was. It says made in Olean NY - but maybe plastic molds imported from China? Who knows. Very sad.I've contacted the company and will update this review accordingly when I hear back.

It's perfect
Must have accidently tossed our original one and that's why I got the red handled knife. To stand out more on a plate so it doesn't go in the trash by mistake. It's the perfect Cutco quality.
