Christmas in Rudolph
Another fun title in a series set in Rudolph, NY, which has made itself a tourist destination by becoming a year round Christmas town. This title is actually set in December and as Christmas nears, a local innkeeper suffers a serious heart attack so his son arrives in town to assist his mother-in-law with the family business. Gord is quickly followed by businessmen hoping to capitalize on the change in power and franchise the beautiful inn. One guess who ends up dead! Merry's a great character and her family rallies round as her father (Rudolph's very own Santa) is a suspect in the death. I was definitely surprised at the outcome this time and will gladly read another of these holiday themed stories.

Must Read Christmas Mystery
Nothing gets me in the spirit of Christmas like reading books with a Christmas theme. Vicki Delany's Year Round Christmas mysteries at at the top of my list.Merry Wilkinson is getting ready for her first Christmas as a shop owner in Rudolf, NY, where Christmas is always in season. Good family friend Jack Olsen falls ill and his son Gord comes back to town to help run the popular Christmas at the Inn. Unfortunately, his plans are to change many of the things that make the Inn unique and turn it into a franchise hotel. This is upsetting news to the entire town that is well known for it's unique shops and restaurants. When Gord turns up dead, Merry must figure out who really killed him before her father Santa gets put in jail and Christmas is ruined forever.

Another fun visit to Rudolph, New York
I really enjoy this series, holidays or no, I like the premise, I really like the characters, Merry is a good heroine, she is engaged and invested without being over the top, and I like to see a business owner who actually spends time in her business. This story centers around friends of Merry's parents and the implications and fallout of events could affect the whole town, of course Merry has to get involved, especially when her dad is implicated in the murder. How everything comes together and the joy of the holiday returns to Rudolph, New York makes for a fun read!

Fun holiday cozy mystery
I enjoyed this second book in the series. I love the idea of Christmas all year round and this book definitely hits the spot. When the sudden heart attack of the Yuletide Inn owner strikes, the town of Rudolph suffers when his money hungry son comes to help out.Unfortunately, his idea of helping out it to cut corners and sell the inn.Someone doesn't like that idea and soon enough the crunch is found dead. When Rudolphs very own Santa is accused of the crime, tempers flare and accusations are tossed around.Merry refuses to give up and before long she is on the trail of a killer.

fun Christmas romp.
Christmas is upon Christmas Town aka Rudolph. It is a busy time and things get worse when the fancy hotel owner has a heart attack. His son comes to 'help' aka take over and sell the place while also angering every merchant in town and most of the staff. He of course ends up dead, but Santa, Merry's dad, is the prime suspect. The killer was a bit surprising and it was a fun Christmas romp.

An OK Christmas Read but I Was a Bit Disappointed
OK But maybe after reading the first in the series last year my expectations were a bit too high so I was a bit disappointed in this one. There's nothing really wrong with the story, the descriptions of the setting and the weather are all great and the caste of characters are just as good as in the first book but I don't think it was nearly as humorous as the first book. Merry and Vicky don't get into as many outrageous situations as in the earlier book and most of the rest of the characters are a bit too down and serious to be really funny. Sure there are quite a few giggles but this book has a more serious mystery and quite a bit of it is actually social commentary on our profit driven big business society. Now the ending is a bit abrupt and the twist that provides the motive just sort of drifted in without too many clues for the reader to see it coming and, of course since it's a Christmas story, all the good guys come out on top and live happily ever after. Vicki Delany's writing is very good and I've read quite a few of her books with the Klondike series still being my favourite and while I tried the first Molly Smith I wasn't overly impressed but I'll probably try the next in that series too because the setting is excellent and I intend to read some more of her standalones. All in all this is not a bad Christmas read and since Rudolph is supposed to be a "Year Round Christmas" it'd be nice if the books could come out a bit quicker than just each November!

Merry's holiday cozy
Vicki Delany has included all the elements of a great cozy - amateur sleuth, snowy winter setting, a cast of supportive family members, villains of course and Christmas festivities. Great to read in the festive season.

A wonderful story
In the second of the series, Merryโs dad becomes a suspect and the reader is left wondering to the end. I thoroughly enjoyed it! Just one thing - why does Merry keep Jackie employed? She is so nasty. Iโm looking forward to book 3!
