I gave this hernia belt 5 stars because it does the job, it holds the groin hernia I have in place and relieves the pain I was having. However, making it comfortable to wear required me to make a few changes. I have always worn Y front pants, briefs as they are now called, but they were too small under the belt and the firm material of the belt caused chaffing. I ended up buying new underpants that are a bit like cycling shorts, with long legs that kept the belt off my skin. Next I'm a big lad, not fat, I am six feet, three inches tall and weigh fifteen stone ten pounds. The belt is fixed in place around your hips with velcro. Only the last inch of the velcro was all I could use, fortunately it is good quality and provides a good fastening, however that left about four inches of uncovered velcro which attatched itself to the underpants so I had to cut a piece of material to cover that. Finally the strap that goes from the belt and under your crotch to join up with the belt at the back was too short. I fixed this by buying a velcro extender. Now the hernia belt, besides doing a good job on what it is supposed to do is also very comfortable to wear all day.

This takes a bit of time to get used to but it does work well the Velcro holds the belt in place the pressure holds the hernia in place so that it gives you instant pain relief this is good value and is a must have if you have a hernia

Waiting for a hernia operation and my consultant sent me a link to this product and recommended it. It has been a game changer. I had another product before this and this is far superior. Really good support easy to use.

Really good item it's helping me loads

Unfortunately, the belt is far too small for and average sized man - it seems to be sized for a large child. I have a 34 inch waist and the straps barely fasten at the very ends of the velcro. The belt is very tight and greatly restricts movement. I've had other more comfortable fitting hernia belts. However, none of the other reviews find issue with comfort or sizing, so perhaps I just got a bad one. Regardless, the one I got isn't fit for purpose.

There is a plastic buckle for adjusting the strap and digs in to the side of my leg.

I looked at several hernia supports and their reviews which were all fairly mixed - even the more expensive ones - so I decided to take a risk and buy a cheaper one especially as it had very reasonable reviews. I’m glad I did as it’s worked out really well and I’ve ordered a second one so I can alternate washing. It’s black and relatively discrete and the support gives me some relief. It is, of course, a very individual thing but at this price it’s worth trying it out.
