Welcome to the World of Sonic (Sonic the Hedgehog) Paperback – Sticker Book, March 6, 2018

My son is a BIG fan of Sonic the Hedgehog. He liked the book. Had alot of different things to do and see

My son has loved this book. It has all the characters and he has really enjoyed learning about each of them. Great book! Definitely a book I have to read to him, older kids could read it themselves, but my son is six.

My grandson loved the series of the Sonics comic books. Purchased him several for Christmas. He loved them

I loved that this came a day early! ♥ A little smaller than I imagined however. I guess I should state that I'm a big Sonic the hedgehog fan so I already know a lot of what was in the book. This is aimed for kids and the book has the Sonic characters with speech bubbles on the side along with a few trivia questions. So it's cute overall and nicely done. I'll get to the facts about the book and leave my extra comments/notes at the end for those wanting the gist of the book.This book is only 80 pages so it felt kinda crammed. The first half of the book is about Sonic characters up until page 51. However Table of Contents starts on page 4. So this book uses pages to separate sections so there isn't actually 80 pages of reading. On each character page has a question with the answer at the end of the book.The remaining 30 or so pages are 2 page stories about main Sonic games like Sonic adventure 1&2, Colors, All Stars, etc. It does not have all the games.On the last page are the stickers. The stickers are of these characters: Sonic, Shadow, Knuckles, Tails, Eggman, Chao, Blaze, Rouge, Cream&Cheese(as one whole sticker) and Amy Rose. That's it.There are two mistakes in this book.1. Rouge the Bat has her Species listed as a "Cat" on her character page2. The explanation for Sonic's Werehog form is incorrect. Here is Sonic.wikia,com explanation on Werehog"...this transformation was created when Sonic accidentally absorbed a large dose of Dark Gaia's energy onboard the Chaos Energy Cannon, although the transformation itself would only be triggered by nighttime and remain active until daytime. Sonic eventually lost this form permanently when Dark Gaia reclaimed the energy that caused the transformation."--------------------------------------Extra comments and notes:This book is not "All about Sonic the hedgehog" it is "The World of Sonic the hedgehog". Keep that in mind. (Basically a quick inside look at Sonic's World and characters)I was also disappointed that there was only one sticker sheet because officially made Sonic the hedgehog stickers are hard to come by.It was interesting to see Espio's trivia question to be from the game "Shadow the Hedgehog" when this book doesn't even list "Shadow the hedgehog" in the Table of contents. I think they could have used a different question for Espio as that will be hard for a kid to answer especially when the game "Shadow the hedgehog" was inspired by movies such as quote "Underworld, Constantine, and the Terminator". This IS listed on Amazon for "Children's Computer Game Books" Not teenagers. (The game Shadow the hedgehog was going to originally be released with the Teen rating because the game contained guns and curse words, etc) Not a big deal really but felt the need to point that out.Shadow the hedgehog's speech could have been different for his character page. I felt that what he said represented his old character, one who had memory loss. I think Shadow could have said something different since he no longer has amnesia and Shadow's true story has been told in his own game "Shadow the hedgehog". But it's not really that big of a deal.For the price of $13.85 I was really hoping for more. Like a lot more stickers. This is a short, colorful and average informational book about Sonic the hedgehog. Not too much but not a lot either.Overall, I am sure that any kid will love this book for any parents who are considering buying. All fans of Sonic the hedgehog will also enjoy this book.-----Update 6-1-18: I bought the Official Sonic the Hedgehog 25th Anniversary Art Book and thus removed my original comment suggesting to buy 25th Anniversary book. I have also updated this review with minor edits. Here are my suggestions if you are looking for more Sonic the hedgehog information books. (I excluded Sonic comics, focusing on books that contain history and information)1. Welcome to the World of Sonic (Sonic the Hedgehog) came out in March 2018. This book is a quick look at the Sonic world and cast.2 The "Official Sonic the Hedgehog 25th Anniversary Art Book." is a book from 2016. The book goes over how Sega and Sonic came to be but that's about it. The 25th Anniversary Art Book is just mainly art. Pricey, but those who want to look at art&early concept art should be pleased. I would not recommend buying if you are looking for Sonic information.3.The "History of Sonic the Hedgehog book is from 2011." This 2011 book has a plethora of information. Being a major Sonic fan, it is my favorite official Sonic book so far. Since the book is from 2011 it will not cover Sonic Boom. I have not come across a better book to this date. "The History of Sonic the Hedgehog" tells more about the Sonic universe and Sonic characters than "Welcome to the "World of Sonic". The book has about as much pages as "Official Sonic the Hedgehog 25th Anniversary Art Book" but has more to read than art to look at. That is not to say that the book is lacking in pictures/art however.This book is pricey as well but if you are someone looking for the mother load of information on how Sonic started and who all his friends are, then this is the Sonic book you have been looking for. But keep in mind the book only goes up to 2011. I am eagerly hoping that in the future there will be a book made just like this one again in the future.---EXTRA on the mention of Sonic stickers: A new book called "Race Against Chaos Sticker Activity Book (Sonic the Hedgehog)" is a new Sonic book coming out on Amazon on August 28, 2018. This will probably be the best bet for officially made Sonic the hedgehog stickers.The other book on Amazon that sells official looking Sonic stickers literally costs almost $2,000. (Called 'Sonic the Hedgehog Sticker Mania!")Seriously though, official Sonic the hedgehog stickers are that hard to find. You have to watch out for fan art that looks EXACTLY like official art. I have seen Amazon products that sell art created by fan artist on the web and presumably do not even realize the art is fan made. (This happens occasionally) I hope this review helps everyone and I look forward to Sonic's 27 birthday this year in 2018!Update 10-8-18: I have received the "Race Against Chaos Sticker Activity book". I made a review over there too along with an upload of the pictures of the stickers for that book as well. I am writing this to say that "Race Against Chaos Sticker Activity book" has 16 stickers while the book "Welcome to the World of Sonic the Hedgehog" has only 10. Still looking for that Sonic book with more than one page of Sonic stickers. (Ideally, I'm looking for sheets of them.)

Sonic The Hedgehog has been one of my all time favorite Video Game characters of all time and this was a must have for my collection. This book will be perfect to introduce younger and or new fans to the Sonic Franchise and the characters themselves will talk about themselves and their adventures including Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 a must have for and Sonic fan old and new.

I like that it talks about more obscure games like the sonic advance series and it gives good overall information about the characters.

My 6 year old has been obsessed with Sonic for years. This book series has been a great way to keep his interest up and reading engaged.

Outstanding book! My only complaint would be adding people like the Babylon Rogues but not touching on the Riders series. The Sonic The Hedgehog universe is so long that I don't blame you, though! It's very hard to put ALL of the niche sonic games into story. Aside from that? Outstanding book!
