A great Simple solution, works great.
My wife was gifted an older VGA monitor and her newer laptop does not have VGA output. We purchased a USB-C docking station, but her USB-C port on the laptop does not pass video. The Moread HDMI to VGA adapter solved the problem. Plugged the unit into the HDMI port on the laptop and then the monitors VGA cable to the VGA end of the adapter. The monitor recognized the input immediately. The unit seems to be solid construction and compact allowing you to take it on the go. The VGA end has screw terminals so you can secure the VGA connection. At such a low price, I am considering purchasing a second unit for my laptop just in case the need arises.

Must have for older monitors
This little piece saved me thousands of dollars because my monitor is old but it’s a HDMI so it was not compatible to my new tower so I bought this little adapter and my computer works well thank God it’s little electronic piece right here Lord have mercy. it’s a good investment. Do not go out and purchase new monitors. Just buy this little piece of connected to your new tower and have a great day. I’m excited the picture is clear and I bought a refurbished tower from Walmart guarantee for 12 months and it works very well.

To my door faster than Microcenter. Handy little adapters.
You wouldn't think that you would need to adapt VGA to HDMI anymore, but sure enough, my work has a bunch of large displays in conference rooms that the company refuses to update. I am giving presentations several times a week and for me, it makes a lot of sense to have my Thunderbolt dock output video to the displays, however, the dock only has HDMI. I picked these up to make that happen. I have no issues with video quality but most of what I do is Power Points. On occasion I will do videos and everything looks as good as if it were a native connection. The company is happy that their old tech still gets use, too. These adapters work well and are portable. They take up barely any room in my laptop bag. The only thing is that they get hot. I don't think it is bad enough to worry about them catching fire or anything, but after a long presentation, I notice that they are hot to the touch when I am packing up my gear. Easily as hot as a the outside of a mug with fresh coffee in it, but not hot enough to emit a burning plastic smell or anything. It's probably fine. I have been using them for over a year and the adapters are keeping up.

Works well
Good: Does the job. I bought this to adapt an HDMI-only motherboard to a KVM switch that only takes VGA input. Worked perfectly on initial startup and has continued to do so. Decent price. Bad: Nothing significant. Five stars.

One star because I can't go any lower
I bought eight of these to connect several Mac Mini's to VGA capable monitor via a KVM switch. I got everything hooked up, but lo and behold, the monitors didn't work... they were reporting no signal. I tried connecting the Macs directly to the monitor via an HDMI cable and it worked, so the Mac was outputting a signal. I thought maybe the KVM switch was the issue, so I connected the Mac to the VGA port on the monitor via the adapter, but again, no signal. I next thought the VGA cable might be the issue, so I tried another, and still no luck. Finally, I tried a different monitor, thinking maybe the VGA port on the monitor was bad, but no luck with the new monitor. My final conclusion is that none of the 8 adapters I purchased work. The specs say they are unidirectional (HDMI to VGA), but that is the mode in which I am trying to use them... HDMI from the computer to VGA on the monitor. If I hadn't waited so long to test these, I'd return them in a heartbeat. Update: I have changed my rating to 5 stars because Moread has gone out of their way to correct the issue. They sent me a sample of a different adapter, which worked as I thought the original adapters should, so then they replaced all 8 of the adapters with the model that worked. I was very surprised, but have to commend Moread on their customer service. Thank you for making this right!
