Worth the money.
I always seem to be evaluating things these days based on whether I consider them to be worth what you pay for them, but that's important now more than ever. These puzzles, at a bit over four dollars each, are worth it.I got these puzzles, and many others, for the residents of a local assisted living community, and there are many things to consider when you do that. One is the picture (they prefer things they can see well - bright colors, no small details), another is the thickness of the pieces for easy pick up. They need puzzle pieces that will stand up to a lot of use because no sooner does one person finish it than another may start on it right away, and so forth. My opinion of these puzzles is: they are on the thin side, but not so thin they won't stand up to a lot of use. The subject matter is colorful and interesting. There are just enough pieces to be low-level challenging for those with a short attention span or limited abilities, but not to the point it is a blow to their pride. They do have their dignity, which we all try hard to protect. One gripe I do have is that they are not individually boxed and the picture they need to use as a reference - probably - is so small as to be possibly confusing to them. I scanned each puzzle before breaking them apart and ran out color inkjet prints and laminated them, then put them in a gallon freezer bag with the pieces of that puzzle. It really helped.

These puzzles are the perfect size for my grandchildren, who are all under the age of 10 they love them, so they make a game out of it to see who can put theirs together the fastest. Each puzzle is around 36 pieces and they are big and sturdy and easy for kids to handle.

rewarding activity, clear images, good activity for anyone, focus and fidget tasks
Image on the puzzle is clear and crisp. Thickness is fair, this will be a matter of preference. No thicker or thinner than most puzzles. Includes a poster of the image on the puzzle, which is a very nice addition. The box is sturdy and colorful, however, not likely to fit the puzzles back in exactly the way they came out, unless putting back into box completed. Too bad. Minor detail, and some folks may make it work. Or not. Perhaps a cute basket with puzzles in zip baggies would be nice idea for those thinking about it.We have the 36 piece set. I think they would be good for anyone, but yes especially those looking to keep their mind active. Sometimes one doesnt have the time, ambition or commitment to putting together a 1000 piece, or even a 500 piece. It is nice to have an option that allows some fidgeting, focus, and relaxation-- whether by oneself or over a cup of coffee with a friend/family member. All of this is good for brain and fine motor skills, at nearly any age or situation in life.I collected several puzzles of this sort with a family member experiencing a cognitive decline. It is tough to see, and hopefully having more things to keep the brain busy will help. I also bought lots of puzzle books and such. Hoping these puzzles really add value to their life. When I pop over for a visit, I plan to pull one out and do one while chatting over coffee. I like having something to focus on and I like that I am not tying up a table for hours, days, weeks by starting a puzzle with more pieces. I was concerned that 36 pieces wouldnt be enough for this individual, but it seems to be working out. Maybe I will look for some 50-100 pieces as they are still independent and for the most part have their wits about them. The puzzles with less pieces are certainly targeted toward those that may need some assistance. However, no worries no matter skill level as I still think completing something like this is rewarding.
