Great quality, Incredible Price.
What a great little sketchbook. It isn't 100% cotton as I've realized after purchasing, but it works just as I would expect watercolor paper would. It's 140lb which is perfect for how small this sketchbook is. There is barely any warping of the pages when wet media is used. I'm using gouache and watercolors as my main mediums for this journal and it was exceeded my expectations, especially for something for the price. Great value for a little sketchbook. It holds paint very well, and doesn't absorb into the paper so colors stay resilient and true to what is on my palette. I use it for Pleinair painting and travelling with something this small makes this easy to use in a travel set up. It's small enough to fit in your pocket or bag and if you have some travel brushes or small brushes it's easy to just stop and paint on the go. The perforated edge is a nice touch if you're considering giving the painting out or making cards or postcards. This is well worth the money spent. Will be buying it again one I'm finished with this journal.

Nice journal for a low price
I purchased this journal awhile ago and found it quite nice compared to other journals this size in this price range. It’s not the highest quality watercolor paper but it’s adequate for hobbyists and personal use The journal cover is made from canvas material and is durable and compact. You can paint landscapes using two pages folded out or just use each page individually. No bleed through in my experiences using it Overall, a quality watercolor journal at a very affordable price

Made for Water Color Painting!
You CAN use this for sketching, but it is MEANT for water color. The paper weight - guessing 140lb. It does not warp. The book lays flat when fully opened for landscape. It will fit in the average shirt pocket. Well made. Has a book marker and a elastic band to keep the other pages out of the way. The pages are perforated and the other two corners are rounded. It has a handy pocket to store your finished work or you can just leave them in the book. You can paint on both sides of the textured paper without bleed through. Expect to pay more for real water color paper rather than a book that implies "Sure, you CAN use it for water color". This one is made for water color and a good value for your money. We use ours to capture the moment- its not finished art. We've found that taking the time for a quick sketch while on a trail resting on a rock or fallen tree is far better memory than snapping a photo. I will order again.

Great Value Would Recommend
Great play book. I love using watercolor sketchbook to try out new techniques or to do color swatches and this is a wonderful way to just practice doing trees or flower blossoms. I would recommend this to anybody to just try to make designs in, try small parts of new strategies or techniques or a new watercolor palette. Paper quality seems just fine and with a couple of binder clips it stays open nicely. Great value for money.

Nice travel size
I just rec'd my book and LOVE it. 25% cotton (at least it has some). The pages are heavy and lie flat. It has a slightly bumpy texture, though it is smoother in feel than most cold pressed watercolor paper. The paint I am using is vibrant and did not soak through to the other side. (I'm using Nicholson's Peerless watercolor). I am planning to use this book as an alphabetical story of my upcoming trip to San Francisco. I had to double up on the last pages for W/X, Y/Z. Otherwise each two page spread has a large color dot and a single letter. I chose the brown outer fabric which is a nice mahogany color and the elastic band is soft and seems sturdy. Cute little envelope in the back for ephemera. I don't know why people are complaining about the price. It is a solidly bound book with sew-in pages. Even the thin end pages are nice and did not soak through when I painted on them. I paid $11.00 for it and think it is worth that price.

This watercolor journal is well-made with good quality paper and the perfect size for traveling.
I bought this watercolor journal to use for small sketches or paintings. It's good for the times you just want to let out a little creativity and it keeps all of your sketches in one place. I mainly like using it to do stages of a drawing so I can see the changes made to the different drafts. It is the perfect size for traveling - if you're sitting in a hotel room or riding in the car and want to pass the time creatively. The page material is high quality and the paint doesn’t bleed through. I really like the attached strap that keeps everything tidy and protected. I don't have anything negative to say about this journal.
