The door jam straps are useless in my opinion. I also tried with a barbell, didnt work. Ordered this bench and it is easy to bolt together and absolutely rock solid. High quality item that looks good in a room at home. The plate for your toes to press against makes a big difference and the padding and adjustable pads are perfect. If you're looking for a bench for Nordic or reverse Nordic curls, this is a good solution.
