Be sure to shove this axle in, until you feel it snap and it wont slide back out without a hard yank. If you don't do this, you could have a bad accident. You'll need a single spring compressor and about a 4" section of pipe with 3/4"id to slip around the compressor thread, or you will not compress it enough without poking a hole in the frame of the vehicle above the spring. (I've seen evidence of others do this). You'll need a giant socket set from Harbor Freight or something to get that axle bolt off unless you get a giant 34mm socket, a 1/2 to 3/4" drive converter, and a breaker bar or torque wrench in place of the breaker bar. You'll need a few other sockets, a jack stand and a jack. No cotter pin necessary. It's a real easy job on either side even a girl could do, no offense, on the Impala. Can't speak for others.

This product broke shortly after installing

The axle is dimensionally half the size of the stock W-body axle in every way. I know it was made in the orient, so we’ll see how long this cheapo dump holds up.

Chevy Impala, thump thump thump taking off from a stop, not any more! Easy enough to install. The right side seems to wear out parts faster due to potholes, water, etc.
