A MUST HAVE FOR EVERY PARENT AND ADULT!! Look no further, this is the one you want!
Every parent (and adult) needs this book! My mom had this book and I bought this for me and another one for my husband's parents. It is HARD enough emotionally when your parents pass away, but all the details of everything that needs to be done - from the funeral to accounts and policies - is very overwhelming! My parents (thankfully) have alway been very open and matter-of-fact in communicating with us information about medical and financial power of attorney, their wills and trusts, funeral arrangements and more. This book has a simple to follow fill-in-the-blank format separated in sections:First things to do at time of death - who to call (friends, family, employer, funeral home, banks, etc.)Personal information - SS#, doctors, birthplace, etc.Location of personal papers - birth & marriage certificate, will, trust, other recordsBenefits you can expect - from employer, SS, VA, other sourcesInsurance policiesInvestmentsReal estate and autosBankingWhat you owe & who owes youBurial and Memorial - prepaid expenses, desires for interment, memorial service wishes, speakers & pall bearers, desiresPersonal NotesPersonal property - items, history of items, location, instructionsFolder for important papersI was pleased that the exact book my mom bought several years ago is still available. I did find another one and purchased it, but I returned it as it had loads of instructions and law guidance. It looked way more complicated than it needed to be. I want to make things easier for my kids, not overwhelm them!

Family
The material was well put together. It's cover was very nice, the pages inside clear and easy to write on. I canceled the second order although I will give one to a family member so I will not be returning it.

Rating based on value for price paid
This is a nice neat way to consolidate all necessary information one might need when settling someone's affairs when they are no longer around. I paid $4 and considering the book is 10 pages, double sided (20 total pages of info) it's well worth the price. The sections are comprehensive and i imagine could pretty well document a portfolio of a person of "higher than average wealth." Page titles are first things to do at time of death, 2 pages of important personal info, where personal papers are, 2 pages of benefits expected (like insurance, pensions, etc), insurance policies, investments, real estate and auto, 2 pages of banking info, 2 pages of what the person might owe, what is owed to the person, burial info, personal notes, 2 pages of personal property, and then 2 pages of important papers (with pockets) although anything of any size wouldn't fit in there without busting the flaps. Most important thing is to make time to fill this out when you get it and make sure a trusted family member knows where it is. I showed it to some friends and they ordered copies (one friend ordered 5 for everyone in her family).

Making Things Easy for My Family
this book/manual has everything any average person would need to deal with funeral plans, memorial wishes, final expenses and paperwork, it really makes you look everything up so you'll know just where everything is when needed without having to forage around without a clue where to begin. i recommend this book for anyone who needs or likes to plan ahead, it would be extremely helpful at a time that is usually so difficult. if you had a very large estate or portfolio, you would need something larger. while this has plenty of listings for everything, it is still more basic.

It is what I hoped. Good info questions & 2 pockets.
I wish I could have seen more of what was in the book before buying. There are so many to choose from with so little info making decisions difficult.
