Fabulous Addition to Library
The introductory section is the reason I bought this book. It is excellent in helping to keep string quilting fresh and successful. The variety of ways to use strings -- well illustrated by the 14 quilt projects -- sparks the imagination.Mary Hogan manages to walk the line between two types of quilting/crafting books. On the one hand, she gives detailed instructions about how to make 14 different quilts for those folks who want something that looks just like the sample. On the other hand, she has 57 pages of general ideas, troubleshooting tips, details from quilts to illustrate options, quilting suggestions, binding suggestions (you name it) for those who like the technique, but want to take it somewhere else.I make small art-quilt pieces and this offered me inspiration for backgrounds. The easy to comprehend directions mean I am not reinventing the wheel. This is a worthwhile addition to any library.

String Quilting - my new obsession!
This book is awesome; how to take the simple concept of string quilts and use it in other designs! Simple and inspiring. I am preventing fabric from going into the landfill, one quilt or wall hanging at a time!

Lots of inspiration for several audiences.
It is great for people who want to use up their scraps, for people who like flexible inspiration or who want to learn to design their own quilts, for people who like precut strips, for people who don't want to do spend a lot of time on precision cutting, and for people who want their quilts to look a little different from most.

inspiring strip piecing
This book is inspiring! It contains great ideas to use all pieces in my stash as well as ways to personalize my own string quilt. I love the bright colors and the 'not so perfect piecing' making quilting fun and spontaneous. The directions are easy to follow. I already started the circle quilt. Look forward to making my own version of the Birds in the Woods quilt.

Great string quilts!
This is the first book I’ve ordered from this quilter. I’m very impressed with her style. I love string quilts and have preordered her newest book which should be out in April.

Utilize Stash
This book provided other ways to make string quilts that I had not realized. Good utilization of fabric in stash or specific type of fabric, i.e., batiks.
