Wide soundstage!
A few months ago I bought the D7's for my computer workstation. The D9 white version was at a very attractive price point and I bought them recently. They are fantastic, sitting next to my LG C2 TV in the living room and powered by a Marantz PM6006 integrated amplifier. In a small apartment these are bliss. 5/5 stars, I couldn't ask for more. Thanks!

Great speakers (for the cost)
I bought these as "all-purpose" bookshelf speakers, that I use both for music and as my "home entertainment system," with the Definitive Technology CS-9040 center. I'd consider the bookshelves with the CS-9040 a good pairing. Right out of the box they seemed a touch harsh, but after a few hours breaking them in I'm extremely happy with them! They do a great job handling hip hop, rock and jazz. With the center channel speaker, I'm really pleased with how they handle the sound from movies, TV, and video games, too (I can't speak to how they do without the center for those, as I've always had the 3 connected). These are a huge upgrade over my previous two pairs of "great value" bookshelf speakers (Dayton Audio B652s, which were fine for the money, and a pair of nice Philips speakers that came with an old CD player/stereo). For the sound quality, I think they have a nice relatively small footprint, as well.

Great value for the price and size
I picked these speakers up (in white) for $299 from Amazon seller CAPITOL HOME THEATER. They're up for $249 from the same seller now on Amazon. I don't regret the purchase at all. These won't give you the audio of modern audiophile full tower speakers but, for their size and price, they represent a tremendous value. I am driving them with a Fosi Audio V3 amp with upgraded op-amps (LM4562NA) and they sound great for my application (desktop PC audio). I was using the junky speakers built into my flat screen monitors for my desktop PC. However, being used to a decent setup in my living room (Rel Acoustics HT/1508 Predator Subwoofer, Mirage OMNI 350 for front L & R, a Boston Acoustics center channel, etc.), I couldn't stand having to use headphones to get acceptably decent sound out of my PC. If you want to emphasize lower frequencies, pair these with a decent subwoofer as you will likely find that they do not emphasize bass to the degree some other speakers do. Maybe that's just because I'm used to a decent 15" sub in the living room.

Well balanced sound
Early model DT speakers are well balanced and have great highs, lows can be a bit boomy at low crossover. But very good overall sound.

Amazing Sound!
Mostly used for music, sometimes for movies, the mid-range and the bass are outstanding for such a small enclosure; pianos and guitars sound vivid and fresh (nothing artificial about this sound) and voices are lifelike. I have Definitive Technology speakers all over the house, some cost in the thousands of dollars, this new technology speakers are right up there with them in total performance.

Soundstage!
much wider soundstage than my old Kef LS 50 , better bass , midrange on the def techs is no where near as good , but it’s acceptable, and the sibilance is non existent, where as my Kefs always had that ‘sssss’ sound on vocals which I absolutely hate , reminds me of a klipsch speaker I had back when I first got into the hobby , these D9,s are in a 2nd system hooked to a Rotel integrated, and at a fraction of the price of my main rig , these D9’s compete nicely, definitely keepers , can’t beat the price

WOW!!!!
I upgraded from the Pro monitor 1000’s and there is a major difference. While the pro monitor’s had a very good sound, the DM 9’s are awesome. They have a much fuller sound, the imaging is great and they look great without the covers. I’ve Received several compliments on the sound and looks of these speakers. I also bought the stands for these speakers.
